Los Angeles Lakers History
The Lakers are one of the most storied franchises in all of sports. They boast 19 conference titles, 35 division titles and 17 NBA Championships. The franchise started in 1947 as the Minneapolis Lakers in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and predated the official founding of the NBA. At the time, the Lakers were a member of the National Basketball League (NBL). They moved to the Basketball Association of America (BAA) prior to the 1948–49 season. After that season, the NBL and BAA merged to form the NBA. The Lakers dominated the newly formed NBA, winning five of the first six NBA Championships.
Two big decisions in 1960 altered the future of the franchise. First, they selected Jerry West with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft. Then, the franchise moved to Los Angeles in the same offseason, becoming the NBA's first West Coast team. After several trips to the NBA Finals and trading for Wilt Chamberlain, the Lakers won the NBA Championship in 1971–72, an amazing season that included a 33-game win streak, which is still the NBA record for most consecutive wins. West would go on to become a Hall of Famer, and his silhouette is featured as the NBA's logo.
The Lakers' next era of dominance began in 1979, when they selected Earvin "Magic" Johnson with the No. 1 overall pick. Johnson's unrivaled passing ability allowed the Lakers to play with an up-tempo style that became known as "Showtime." Led by Johnson and fellow Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the Lakers won the NBA Championship in Johnson's rookie season and a total of five titles during the '80s.
The Lakers were led to three consecutive titles between 2000 and 2002 by the legendary duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, including a run through the 2000–01 playoffs that saw them lose just one game in four series. The franchise entered a short rebuilding period after trading O'Neal in 2004, but Bryant led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA Finals appearances once again, starting in the 2007–08 season. They lost to the Celtics in their first appearance, but responded by winning the next two championships, the second of which came in seven games against the Celtics.
Following the postponement of the 2019-20 NBA season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team won its most recent NBA Finals in 2020 in the NBA Bubble behind Finals MVP LeBron James and All-Star forward Anthony Davis. In 2023, the Lakers won the inaugural NBA in-season tournament.

It was a good time had by all!!! The seats were great. The food was good.
This is the first time I attend a NBA game and the last one, unless somebody hand me free tickets and probably think about it anyway. Myself & my sons 23 and 15 for the first time attend a game and the only NBA star we saw from the Lakers was J. Lin & Byron Scott the coach and my sons did not know who he was. This was frustrating thank you LA LAKERS FOR NOTHING.
Its a good tix had fun if you planning to go to an Lakers preseason in Vegas game buy some tickets for you and your family its fun no matter if you Lakers fan or basketball fan
Had a great time. The seats were great, wonderful atmosphere at the game!!
Without a doubt it was a great exxperience for the price! would go again!
The Honda Center is 100% better than the Staples Center for any event...
If you did not go you really missed it!! Exciting game. Great venue for OC to see the Lakers. Easy to get to, comfortable seating with great views for everybody in the smaller stadium, not the craziness of LA. Lakers looked great despite losing in the final seconds.
View is decent i.thought the view was bad but i.was wrong ! Amazing game.
the experience was amazing seeing Kobe Bryant out there was amazing aside from losing I really enjoyed myself. I would definitely go to another game.
It great to see a live Laker game, although I wish they would have won.
Despite it was a pre-season game, the experience was incredible. Couldn't be better, being at LA watching Lakers with Kobe....
The seats were pretty much center court, which was great. We were up high enough to see, but not so high that we could not see the players. Some of the Laker's main players (Bryant, Hill, Boozer, Sacre) were on the court and were fun to watch. After Utah got way ahead, there were only the young, inexperienced kids on the court, and the Laker's quickly got overwhelmed so lost by a lot. But I love the venue and would go again. I got to the game with my son early, and there was no place open to eat at Honda Center so we had to go across the street.
really enjoyed my time. since it was pre season, there was more flexiblity to move around and get closer to the players, very very nice. thanks!!
Excelent, the show sims to be 5 minutes. It was amazing!!!
had a great time my daughter and I attended first time at the Honda center
I'm a die hard Laker fan but I never went to any game simply because I couldn't afford it. Preseason game was affordable so I went and had a great time. One thing I can say is that the stadium was empty and so many seats were open, why are they charging $100 for an exhibition game that no one goes and I went only because I can afford it. Even close seats were open and when you go to buy tickets it says not available. I think that's really messed up specially since its preseason. Other then that had a great experience. Will go again if I get a chance
Game wasn't competitive and the Lakers defense didn't exist. Maybe they save it for the regular season. For around a hundo a ticket I expected a higher lever of play; we got a 33 point loss. I won't go to an nba pre-season game again.
Going to a Lakers game is always entertaining, this time was no exception!!!
it;s so amazing. when u enter steples you will find yes it is LA~~~
It`s my first time on a NBA game in LA. The Staples Center is great, nice spot to parking and nice seat too. Unf Lakers loose, but ok, the most important thing was the entire event and the event was wonderfull.
