Los Ángeles Azules on Tour
The timeless cumbia rhythms of Los Ángeles Azules will crisscross El Norte this year. Launched in the early '80s by a half-dozen siblings of the Mejía Avante family, Los Ángeles Azules (Blue Angels) have surfed wave after wave of Latin music. It's been a long road, but their romantic take on Mexico's cumbia sonidera sound remains as popular as ever. Los Ángeles reignited once again last year with Esto sí es cumbia ("This Is Cumbia"), whose twist on original hits by Ha*Ash, Miguel Bose, Gloria Trevi, Yuri and other Latin stars hit the Regional Mexican Albums Top 10. They kicked off 2019 with "Nunca es suficiente" ("It's Never Enough"), written and sung by Natalia Lafourcade, which became Los Ángeles' first Regional Mexican chart-topper in 19 years. Live performances with the Mexico City Symphony Orchestra in 2016 demonstrated that cumbia belongs to everyone. But whether accompanied by a symphony or in their usual baker's-dozen configuration, expect to hear hits like "Cómo te voy a olvidar" ("How Could I Forget You"), "Por el amor a mi madre" ("For the Love of My Mother") and "El nuevo sonido de la cumbia" ("The New Sound of Cumbia").
Los Ángeles Azules in Concert
A family affair from the beginning, with more than two dozen albums to their name, Los Ángeles Azules began in 1983 as part of Mexico's young and rocking onda grupera movement. Formed by the Mejía Avante siblings Elías, Alfredo, José Hilario, Jorge, Cristina and Guadalupe, the band hit its first peak in 1996, when their chart-topping "Inolvidables" went platinum in Argentina, the group's second home. A new singer, Erick de la Peña, gave the band its biggest hit to date in 2002 with "Por el amor a mi madre" from the album Alas al mundo ("Wings to the World").
Los Ángeles' most recent surge began in 2013 with the album Cómo te voy a olvidar, an updated re-recording of the group's hits with guest vocalists including Carla Morrison, Lila Downs and Ximena Sariñana. And while the band's foundation in cumbia sonidera's ratcheting guïra rhythm and lilting accordion will never disappear, Los Ángeles Azules took their music to another level in 2016 with De plaza en plaza: Cumbia sinfónica, a glorious powerhouse blend of rootsy cumbia and sophisticated strings.
Music sounded great and they played all the good songs. The players were in good energy and made the crowd dance.
Los Angeles Azules were great but i wish the event was longer it was only 1hour and 40minutes the show started about 15 minutes late.
Bring them back. I love this type of music. Bring more of that.
I paid 55$ per ticket they didn’t play long enough they stopped at 1 and a half hours not happy I loved th le music but wanted them to keep playing longer for what I paid for if would of been I understand but no it wasn’t
No Coldplay too short not organize no security the grup Come out really late
I will never go to a Los Ángeles Azules concert again! I was so disappointed because they only proformed 1 hour snd 30 mins! For me that’s so little time I didn’t even get to enjoy it... I know I’m not the only one that agrees.
Amazing!!!! Best Angeles Azules concerts, I hope they come more often
It was amazing and I would love to see them again!
It was nice but wish they could of played a little longer. We came from Riverside to Vegas and concert was over in less than two hours.
We drove for 9 house to watch this concert even tho the beach vibe was cool the play time felt supper short ... Maybe not the groups fault but really felt like I got cheated on my money for how fast it was over .. just to add on I was sober the whole time soo I know I was paying full attention the whole time.. well either way I made the best out of the situation but really wish their was more of a connection between the group and the crowd
Such an amazing experience. It was so beautiful to see and hear my favorite sonidero group from my childhood.they sound so good ! Definitely a night ill always remember. Beautiful experience!
Had a great time! The music kept us dancing the whole night. Friendly suggestion: don't record the show, especially your favorite songs. You won't enoy the live music because you're fussing with your camera. You won't enjoy it at home either, because it will be a crappy recording. You lose twice
Los Angeles Azules were amazing! The band with the luchador masks was so horrible I felt as if I was being tortured. The line up should have reflected the same style of Cumbia that the main event was about, traditional Cumbia. The other two bands were good.
Make sure you wear your most comfortable dancing shoes
Definitely worth seeing! Intro band played too long and I wasn’t aware of an intro band when purchasing tickets, but overall so happy with the overall experience.
It was an okay event but Los Ángeles azules took forever to come out and then not even played their major hits!! Like wth I wanted more oldies played and then Remix was suppose to perform and nope didn’t happen! I like their music but never again a concert...
Had an awesome night with good music. Enjoyed our seats felt like front row
Their opening bands were ridiculously bad to say the least, they played for over 2 hours and the actual ángeles azules only played 1 hour and 30 minutes. I paid $150 for two tickets so I would’ve just watched them on Facebook
The intro bands time was way too long but overall enjoyed seeing this group in person.
Like always they dont disappointe show was fun ...they put on a great show. ECNO was great too had everyone dancing . You love cumbias and dancing have to attend the only thing if you are assigned seating and love to dance not much room to move at thus venue .Recomend get the floor tix.
