Los Ángeles Azules on Tour
The timeless cumbia rhythms of Los Ángeles Azules will crisscross El Norte this year. Launched in the early '80s by a half-dozen siblings of the Mejía Avante family, Los Ángeles Azules (Blue Angels) have surfed wave after wave of Latin music. It's been a long road, but their romantic take on Mexico's cumbia sonidera sound remains as popular as ever. Los Ángeles reignited once again last year with Esto sí es cumbia ("This Is Cumbia"), whose twist on original hits by Ha*Ash, Miguel Bose, Gloria Trevi, Yuri and other Latin stars hit the Regional Mexican Albums Top 10. They kicked off 2019 with "Nunca es suficiente" ("It's Never Enough"), written and sung by Natalia Lafourcade, which became Los Ángeles' first Regional Mexican chart-topper in 19 years. Live performances with the Mexico City Symphony Orchestra in 2016 demonstrated that cumbia belongs to everyone. But whether accompanied by a symphony or in their usual baker's-dozen configuration, expect to hear hits like "Cómo te voy a olvidar" ("How Could I Forget You"), "Por el amor a mi madre" ("For the Love of My Mother") and "El nuevo sonido de la cumbia" ("The New Sound of Cumbia").
Los Ángeles Azules in Concert
A family affair from the beginning, with more than two dozen albums to their name, Los Ángeles Azules began in 1983 as part of Mexico's young and rocking onda grupera movement. Formed by the Mejía Avante siblings Elías, Alfredo, José Hilario, Jorge, Cristina and Guadalupe, the band hit its first peak in 1996, when their chart-topping "Inolvidables" went platinum in Argentina, the group's second home. A new singer, Erick de la Peña, gave the band its biggest hit to date in 2002 with "Por el amor a mi madre" from the album Alas al mundo ("Wings to the World").
Los Ángeles' most recent surge began in 2013 with the album Cómo te voy a olvidar, an updated re-recording of the group's hits with guest vocalists including Carla Morrison, Lila Downs and Ximena Sariñana. And while the band's foundation in cumbia sonidera's ratcheting guïra rhythm and lilting accordion will never disappear, Los Ángeles Azules took their music to another level in 2016 with De plaza en plaza: Cumbia sinfónica, a glorious powerhouse blend of rootsy cumbia and sophisticated strings.

I went to see Los Angeles Azules in Toronto and the experience was incredible all the songs that were featured I had watched them on YouTube and to see them in real life I won't forget them ❤
Nice venue, the show was great! They started right on time and performed for 2h straight. They engaged with the audience and made it super fun.

Los Angeles Azules is a mostly Cumbia band but they play some romantic songs. They are very entertaining and fun to watch, they get the crowd moving. I recommend this band if you like this type of music.
Music was great, songs were awesome...sound system a little off at times. But a good concert, too bad we were not allowed to dance a liite we were on second row and there was room for it, but security did not allow it. Great music n simgs, no dancing allowed for music really made for dancing. No more to say, already said it all
They put on an awesome show but only played for 1hour and 45 minutes, wish it would have been longer. Did enjoy that they did mingle with the public afterwards in the casino, that was pretty awesome.
I was not able to see the stage. To many drunk people on the aisle Great Music to many people on the aisles.
Would see them again in a heartbeat! My only complain is that it was such a short time with them (less than 2hrs)
The performance was good but we were disappointed that the show was only like an hour and 15 minutes long because the group said the venue said they couldn't perform past a certain time. Plus for the amount me paid for tickets I have never gone to a concert that was that short or cut short.
I was expecting a higher quality concert due the tickets price, the auditorium set up was ok, but the sound and the screens were not good, was so difficult to understand the songs. Also the concert was kind of boring at the beginning and did not last more than 1.5 hours.
Great music not enjoyed people to drunk and not enjoyable for me everyone standing .
Did not like the arrangement of the seating. It was to tight, uncomfortable. No arm space. Besides I think chairs were worthless since everyone stood up. So those that did not want to stand up could not see anything. I think there’s better ways to organize it
That sound system wasn’t working and people resent away when they were carrying small purses, waste of time
Los Ángeles Azules did not disappoint. In spite of a constant drizzle, they had us on our feet dancing and singing along to their amazing music. The staff at the Fairplex was amazing, helpful and kind. I would definitely go again, fair admission with the concert ticket made it even better.

My Wife and I LOVE Los Angeles Azules, and we were looking forward to this event on May 3, 2025 at Harrah’s in Laughlin, Nevada! Our first disappointment was when we arrived, and the parking lot was filled, all confusion, and then the walk down to the event! Horrible! Then the volume of the band, it was so distorted to the point of the band sounding like the music was dragging! Too loud! Then it started raining for a bit, and the event was in a totally open area! I guarantee we will never attend an event at Harrah’s again! We have never been so disappointed!

It was wonderful being there. It was a full room. Everyone sang together. Have been listening to their music for years and it was nice to hear them in person
People stood up during the whole concert to dance. This blocked us from seeing the entertainers. How can people be so selfish and inconsiderate of others. Call me old school, but you can dance sitting down.
