Lorie grew up in Reno, Nevada and was born with “perfect pitch.” She has been playing the piano since age 5 and as a child won many Statewide competitions. Classically trained, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in Music, Piano Performance. In 1986, she married Tim Line, moved to Minneapolis and landed the perfect job, serenading shoppers at the piano for Dayton’s. It was from here that Midwestern fans took notice of her musical talent and style and her career took off. Since then, she has recorded 44 CDs and has published 39 books of music. She has sold 6 million albums and has toured the United States for 24 years, performing on over 2000 stages. Lorie has never taken one business course, but may own one of the largest independent labels in the world.
Lorie Line's show is an amazing holiday experience!
This was a professional, unforgettable performance. The incorporation of the children from the audience for the 12 Days of Christmas was remarkable and heartwarming. Lorie is a one of a kind musician.
We missed the old gang! We could have heard three additional songs instead of listening to one-on-ones with "the Fab 5"..while the story of the 18 year old was the best story...did it really add value to the show...I think not! I'm sure it's difficult to come up with new ideas for a production every year but let's go back to the way it was!
Wonderful show. It really felt like Christmas when the entire audience sang Silent Night. The third, and best, Lorie Line Christmas concert I've seen so far! Great new venue! Didn't even have to worry about parking - a nice change from the downtown Mpls venues where I've seen her in the past.
I've been to many of Lorie's performances but this was my favorite. It truly was an intimate evening. My daughter and I had good seats so we were closer to the performance. It had a very personal touch and I love the more traditional Christmas style. I truly hope she will perform at the Burnsville Perfoming Arts Center again next year! The only thing I was disappointed in was that she did not have a bell this year; especially since it is her 20th Anniversary.
Beautiful selection and wide array of musical styles. My children, ages 7 and 11, both loved it! The set is beautiful! The musicians are amazingly talented. It is a fairytale, memory-making evening filled with fun, laughter, and even some tears at the beauty of it all. The venue is great!
I loved the Intimacy and the traditional Holiday music. I miss that in many of the Christmas shows. I think the classic Christmas music brings back so many memories! I loved that Lorie shared her stage with her fellow musicians and Tim. Not many people are willing to sacrifice the focus in this way. I also think that she changed the lives of many children, by allowing them a part in this Christmas Festivity. My daughter was able to participate and came back to her seat beaming exclaiming, "I got to see Lorie Line up close." She may not remember the music at seven years old, but I know she will never forget sharing that moment with Lorie. What a wonderful way to "ring" in the Christmas Season and the New Year!
MY DAUGHTERS AND I VERY MUCH ENJOYED THIS YEARS CONCERT. WE HAVE BEEN GOING FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS ONLY MISSING ONE CONCERT IN BETWEEN THEM. I DID MISS NOT BEING ABLE TO BUY A BELL, THOUGH, AND I DID MISS A VOCALIST. I LOVED THE BAND SHE DID HAVE WITH HER AND HER INTERACTION WITH THE AUDIENCE MADE US FEEL LIKE WE ACTUALLY KNEW HER WELL!
We all enjoyed last nights concert. It was the 5th time for my hubby and myself and the first time for a friend who came with. She was surprised and very impressed.
The music portion was outstanding as usual, but the individual chatter of the musicians detracted from the overall quality. I came to hear music not stories.
It was truly AMAZING in every way, as wonderful a program as I have ever attended! Being a retired grandmother, it rekindled how proud I am to be an American, as well as a Minnesotan! Lorie Line and company, including her very personable and talented husband, are truly at the top of entertainment for all ages. You are to be complimented for bringing them to Burnsville, both in the spring and again now in December. Thank you!!
Too much like a Lawrence Welk Show. Did love her playing and all her costume changes. Fiddler was great.
Lorie Line is fantastic year after year! We enjoy seeing her, her husband, and the other musicians. She is a great musician and performer!
This is our 12 show that we have been lucky to attend! Each of Ms. Lines appearances has been fun filled, touching, and almost personal. Her talent goes beyond good, she is fantastic. What a way to begin our celebration of Christmas!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Lori Line show. Have followed her over the years and was thrilled to see her do her "traditional show" with more of her playing the piano and not so much of the costume changing and story telling by Tim. Last year was a big disappointment, however she came back with an unforgettable show this year. I would recommend her to everyone.
Hello Lorie, Last night's show was spectacular! My two friends and myself enjoyed ourselves sooo much! I thought the intimate format was wonderful. The "fab five" were great! I still cannot believe the violinist is only 18. He plays like a mature musician, something you would expect of someone in the late 20's-early 30's. You always help make my Christmas brighter, and I have been playing my CD in the car and playing the music on the piano. You have wonderful arrangements. As a retired music teacher in the public schools, I believe I can appreciate your music a notch or two higher, and I am grateful for that. HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed the show from top to bottom! It was much better than we remembered last year's. Maybe it was us, but this last night was memorable and we will be sure to return next year.
There were 15 of us who went and every one of us enjoyed it tremendously, half of whom went for the first time. We absolutely loved the personal effects and meeting her fab 5. They were so enjoyable and that way we all know more about Lori's life and what traveling means to them. She is so incredible - My daughter & I have been going for at least 12 years as a holiday tradition. I did miss the bells though since I have purchased one every year. We also loved the fact of the letter and the medly of songs. We were so impressed, especially the gals who had never gone to see her before. Keep up the awesome music and show, Lori!!!! It was fantastic!!! We were some of the group from Carroll, and my daughter was the gal Tim asked about college etc. It was great!!!!!
FABULOUS!!! It was unlike anything i have ever seen. Everybody should see Lorie Line's show. Thanks for putting on an amazing event!
Did not enjoy this years show. She has cut way back on her musicians and no longer has any singers. No program, no bells. Lorie's performance itself was great but very disappointed in the rest. A lot of chit chat talking it seemed to fill the time up and just not the overall quality that we are used to receiving from the Lorie Line group. Thought it would be a much bigger production for her 20th but it was quite the opposite.
