Though still a teenager Lorde is swiftly establishing herself as a mighty force on the music scene, co-headlining shows with established acts like Vampire Weekend and Arctic Monkeys.
The young yet prolific New Zealand-born singer/songwriter, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, released her first EP The Love Club, her first No. 1 single "Royals", and her first album Pure Heroine back-to-back-to-back. Her sound is a sparse affair that confidently drifts on the strength of beats, loops, and phenomenal vocals.
The pop and alternative worlds don't always mix, but fans of both styles have flocked to Lorde's electropop-driven sound and soulful voice. And despite her pop successes she's managed to craft a bit of an anti-pop image for herself, not afraid to sound off with opinions - both good and bad - about fellow young stars. Fans who've bought tickets to see Lorde in concert rave about her raw talent while looking forward to watching her grow as an artist and performer.
Lorde was discovered when she was just 12, after her performance of the Duffy song "Warwick Avenue" at a school talent show caught the ear of a record label talent scout. When she's not writing music Lorde listens to pop, hip hop, and electronic music and cites soul legends like Otis Redding as well as modern acts like Bon Iver and James Blake among her influences.
I love her single second of her show. She’s so talented. Wonderful experience
waited in line for 3 and a half hours, nearly melted in the 90 degree heat, but Ella sent us all popsicles! a few people passed out, and the staff started handing out cups and bottles of water to prevent any further passing outs. love this venue and Lorde!
most amazing concert I’ve ever been to. I would pay unlimited amounts to see her again
This is the best show I’ve ever been to — better than Harry Styles, Lizzo, BeyONCE!! I cried my damn eyes out it was so euphoric. Worth the rescheduling, paying for extra flights, you name it.
lorde was so wonderful and the people were even better. i truly enjoyed every moment of this show and if you have the chance to see lorde in concert, you absolutely should. i live the anthem and i love lorde and it was such an amazing concert.
We saw Lorde in Nashville open the Solar Power Tour and had so much fun! After, we decided to buy tickets to the Anthem after seeing she postponed the show and would be doing it later. We got to the Anthem the day of at 9am and were 84th in line. The heat was miserable and I got a crazy sunburn, but we made it to 3rd row general admission and the show was amazing as always. Just wish the line queue process was less hot and in the sun, however the staff at the venue kept giving us water and were actually pretty organized and kept track of those who got there earliest.
Blew my mind from the first second as she came out and is blonde! Looked great sounded amazing talked a bit between songs which I love -and she MOVED her body! Very personable and fantastic performance ❤️❤️
My soul left my body. Highly recommend seeing Lorde if you can.
I definitely paid too much. I didnt have a bad time or good. Not worth $200.
This concert was a life altering beautiful fun event. The venue was outstanding and Lorde is a star. I will never forget this evening.
Lorde was great, a bucket list artist for sure. The concert, however, would have been better if Jim-E Stack stayed in the bus and just let people dance to the music that was playing before he came out pointing at the ceiling, playing who knows what music he brought with him. This concert should have waited for Remi to be able to open. That's the show we paid so much money for. You could have picked anyone out of the crowd and they could have pointed from floor to ceiling as good as Jim-E Stack was. Booooo!
She's a such amazing performer! Perfect experience and her evolution as an artist is notorious!
Lorde is obviously one of the most brilliant singer/songwriters ever. She made the whole crowd feel special as if it was a very close and intimate concert. She made each and everyone of us absolutely adore her performance. It was stunning.
It was one of the greatest experiences ever! Glad I did it!
SO FUN! I danced my heart out and had the best time seeing lorde live. Standing in the hall balcony section was perfect cause I could see as a short person which would simply not happen down below. I just feel bad that lorde wasn’t in on the swimming in the patomic joke
Ella and her team gave an energetic and fun performance. I loved the show! Forever grateful that she baptized herself in the Potomac River to become a true local.
This was hands down the best concert I’ve ever been to. I am still reeling for how much fun I had. The venue was very organized and nice to those who waited outside all day and provided everyone with water throughout the day. The line-up system was also clear. When Lorde performed, the crowd was absolutely insane. I will never stop thinking about this show for the rest of my life, it was worth it just to hear Ribs live. 10/10
My kids were having a blast and they absolutely love 💕 the concert but I was on duty watching them… they would give the concern 10 stars ✨
Amazing, show started off well, great energy, she communicating well with the audience spectacular event. Would definitely go to another Lorde tour
Ain’t nothing like the energy of a lorde concert. I’ve been to two now and both were different in certain ways but the same in that characteristic ella energy. She was hyped, so in love with the crowd, talked to us like friends, and we loved her back just as much. Also, if u go to one of her tour spots, the crowds are killer. Most people know every world to every song and we are diehard fans out here. If you can take any opportunity you have to go see Lorde, even if u just know the big songs. She is simply so incredible and humble and TALENTED!
