Disappointed and Entertained
by JlB on 10/4/22Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long BeachI was taken aback by the "tacky" look of the stage (backdrop and lighting), looked like an oversized high school auditorium (strange combination of garish lighting, beaten up stage floor and 70's styled drapes. The musicians were very good and certainly played with enthusiasm, and trained accomplishment. I felt the choice of pieces may have played to a "pops" type of classical experience, there, I think better choices could have been made. The seats in the auditorium are very old and uncomfortable. the lack of "stadium" style seating made seeing the musicians is hard (I would recommend sitting in the third row of the loge and balcony). I was also amazed at the pricing structure. Tickets are very expensive, seating, acoustics and general look-and-feel of the venue do not warrant $100+ cost per seat. Parking was free .... nice
