About

The grand British musical tradition of trip hop, popularized in the ‘90s by acts like Portishead and Tricky, is alive and well in 2013 with the success of trip hop trio London Grammar. Just a few months after being featured on Disclosure’s No. 1 album Settle, London Grammar released their debut full length If You Wait in September 2013 to critical acclaim and a No. 2 spot on the UK Albums Chart. Drawing comparisons to Florence Welch for her throaty, brooding vocals, singer Hanna Reid is a commanding presence on the album, delivering her emotionally affecting lyrics over the trip hop beats and dreamy guitarscapes of bandmates Dot Major and Dan Rothman. The album’s four singles include UK Top 40 hits “Strong” and “Wasting My Young Years,” a breakup song featuring Reid’s signature plaintive vocals. Earlier in the year, the band released their debut EP Metal & Dust, which featured the hit single “Hey Now.” On the road in 2013, the band has been wowing ticket buyers with their intimate arrangements and emotionally-charged live concerts, building anticipation for their first US tour in 2014.

    London Grammar sings brilliantly!

by BernGarcia on 2/10/15Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Great performances by both bands. Wished the transition from both sets could have been shorter.. Also wished the cocktail server could have taken empty beer cups so I wouldn't have to go to the garbage that was no where near the stage. Overall I love the fox theatre!

    London Grammar was excellent!

    by element118 on 2/10/15Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

First time to the Fox Theater - very much enjoyed the venue. Was really looking forward to seeing London Grammar after discovering them for myself last October - they did not disappoint. Opening band Until the Ribbon Breaks was very good too.

London Grammar was brilliant at the Fox!

by MusiOne on 2/10/15Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

London Grammar was brilliant at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Hannah's voice is both powerful and angelic, at once delicately touching your heart (Interlude) and then letting your spirit soar with Hey Now and Strong. I really believe that they are realizing that they can play even more rock music as a backdrop to Hannah's voice, and their diversity will be unstoppable.

    London Grammar

by AYayyy on 2/10/15Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Hannah, Dot, and Dan are amazing artists. Hannah's voice is as powerful as you imagine from their album, if not more so in a live performance. The VJ also coordinated extremely well to each of their songs and added much more to their already great set. One additional note is that between songs, each of the band members had an opportunity to speak and address the crowd so it is apparent the band works extremely well together and that no one hogs the limelight. This quality shows through their music. The only drawback was the brevity of the show, but they do just have one album so it makes sense. I can't wait 'til they release another album and tour again!

the best new band from the UK!

by gaiaguy on 2/10/15Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

This band should have been nominated for a grammy, especially for the impeccable voice of Hannah Reid! It is as strong as Adele's but with a wider range. The guys are great musicians as well, and if they can all stick together they have a great future.

    Worth The Wait!

    by 10ZEN on 2/10/15Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Have been wanting to go to a London Grammar concert for over a year and a half. Glad I finally got to see them live! Excellent performance, glad I went despite change to original date. Also, really enjoyed the opening group, even bought their CD after the show.

I've seen London Grammar having better evenings. Sound was pretty bad up back and it the band's gear also seemed to mess around with them. You could see it was the last gig in the tour, the band seemed tired. But usually, they are amazing, so they probably just had a bad day.

    Very Entertaining!

by music365 on 2/9/15Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

This show was originally scheduled for November, but was postponed until February. DEFINITELY worth the wait. This venue is small and intimate. London Grammar definitely thrived in this setting! They seemed very comfortable and genuinely enjoyed performing this night. The only negative reviews I have read about a London grammar concert is when the venue is rather large. The more they tour i'm sure it will no longer be an issue. Had a fun time!!

    It was amazing

by bhowell317 on 2/6/15Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

This was a great Concert!!! London Grammar is really good live! Their music is very powerful and Hannah puts everything she has in her music!! She has such an amazing voice! And the opening act JAC was really good too! I guess London Grammer's main opening band got stuck in Chicago and couldn't make it so Jason and his band(Local Band) filled in! I really liked them a lot!

    Incredible band

by jellohoneybee on 2/5/15Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

London Grammar is seriously so underrated. The show was flawless with Hannah's ethereal vocals, Dot's skilled keyboard and drumming, and Dan's beautiful guitar playing. It was the perfect blend of talents. My friends and I even got to meet the band after the show and they were so sweet and talkative to us lowly commoners.

    Hannah Reid is God

The concert and venue was absolutely astounding. Dot shredded them drums and Hannah was a gem as usual.

    Hannah's voice is flawless--so beautiful

by lovelondongrammar on 2/5/15Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I love London Grammar. They've obviously put a lot of work into their live show, and it shows. Hannah's voice is beautiful alone, but it's even more captivating with the support of two talented, young musicians. I wish them nothing but continued success and support in America and beyond. Plus, they just seem like genuine humans, like they would be fun to hang out with.

    Nice small venue

by WebbBrowser on 2/5/15Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Lovely songs in a small venue. The sound guy could have been better but that's about it. Great music, great sound. Wanted to see this band for about a year. Sadly, they only played for about 65 minutes. :(
