The first bout started a little late and the event center at the fairgrounds was a bit sticky with the hot weather, but all in all, once the fights began, the show proved to be excellent. Four tremendous bouts, culminating in a much-anticipated ten-round bantanweight championship main event that was good enough easily to be a televised main event from anywhere in the country! Even though I sat row 1 ringside I noticed tickets started at just $25 for elevated bleachers with excellent sightlines...seemed like a good value. Beverages were cold and easy to get, food was hot. Ring card girls were decent eye candy...it was awesome when they threw out sponsored T-shirts and sport bottles from the ring (they did it a couple of times!). The live mariachi players featured during the pre-show was a nice, fun touch. Next live boxing event scheduled at the fairgrounds by the same local promoter is Friday night, October 25th. I'd definitely recommend it!
