I was expecting a small crowd but there were over 46,000 screaming fans. Both schools were well represented. I'm a fan of the Big 10 but I was pulling for Western Michigan University. WMU had a lot of turnovers but were still in position to win it at the end.
It was an interesting game. Both teams were playing at about the same level. It's too bad that a Big Ten team has so many penalties and miscues. Fumbled balls after a catch, etc. played well considering that a Big Ten team against a MAC team should have been a blowout (which it wasn't). I would say that if you continue this tradition (of which Detroiters really enjoy watching in person) that a MAC and lower level Big Ten team should play against each other. And there were a lot of WMU fans in attendance and a large amount of Purdue Fans (maybe it was the section we were sitting in). We did enjoy the game. It was entertaining and a very nice evening out. I would not go a long distance (like Los Vegas or Texas or Florida) to see this game, but II really did enjoy myself. Please continue to hod this Bowl Game at Ford Field and in Detroit. Thank you.
Game was great, first time to Ford Field, very disappointed in concession stand quality of food. Have been to Comerica, better food and choices. Have been to numerour minor league baseball parks with better food.
What a great game. Both teams could have won right to the end. I think this bowl should ALWAYS invite either Central, Eastern, or Western Michigan U. every year as long as one of these 3 schools qualify for a bowl. It brings a lot of fans!!!!!!!!!!
Seats OK on wrong side of the field. When you ask best available. You should also ask Customer if they have a favorite team.
Ford Field is a great place to watch a football game. The staff is friendly and it is fairly easy to get in and out. Parking is expensive. The game was quite an offensive show and the bands were excellent. Found a great place to eat not too far of a walk from the stadium. Detroit certainly has it's share of problems, but I was very happy to make a small contribution to the city's economy. This was my second trip to this bowl and I plan to go again.
Exciting game from start to finish. High scoring with a lot of action. Ford Field a great venue to watch a game.
This may not be a major bowl but the game was exciting and best of all, The stadium!!! Ford field is awsome!! Makes silverdome look like an abandoned warehouse. Detroit fans deserve this kind of arena as all Detriot sports fans ( lions, r. wings tigers and pistons ) are the best in the nation!
Great event, took a friend, plan to make it a new holiday tradition.
up close to the players and the bands...Ford Field is impressive & clean. I supported the "visiting team, really" and my team won; but opposing team's fans are the "best". thanks for a great time!
Great game....................... interesting crowd of people we were sitting with. Too bad that you do not let customers see all unoccupied seats that are available.
It was a nice setting for a bowl game. The fans were friendly. It is a lot of fun for kids too!
Great fun, love Ford field, wish WMU would have won but.
The will call gate was noted on Ticketmaster as Gate G, it really is Gate A way on the other side of the stadium (a very long walk). Apart from the will call location problem, it was an exciting game and the teams were evenly matched. There is a clear view from all seats. Enjoyed the game with my son. We will attend next year. Great half time show. How about showing replays on the jumbo tron?
The 2011 LC Pizza Bowl was excellent! Close, exciting game in a great venue!
Great game, great seats (padded backs, awsome view), easy to get to and easy parking. Restaurants were crowded but when we found 1 that was not as crowded it was outstanding with great service. I just can't get over how good a time we had in Detroit. Yes, it got cold at night but that asside it was just a great outing. If teams of interest are that again, I will be back.
Good game. Would like to see family activities during the game.
The game was 4 stars with the exciting plays that were going on, but was disappointed in Ford Field and the extreme prices for items like $8 for Cotton Candy and $7.50 for "Nachos" which was basically a handful of chips and cheese sauce from a giant can that you would get from Sam's Club. I would not attend another Bowl game in the future.
My son and I enjoyed ourselves. It will be a life long menory
