About

Lights is many things all at once: Singer. Songwriter. Producer. Multi-instrumentalist. Comic book author. DJ. Artist. She’s also unabashedly honest and unapologetically confident. Weaving in and out of alternative, indie, electronic, and dance, she makes manic pop irreverent of boundaries, yet reverent of truth. She speaks her heart musically and her mind lyrically. It’s why her shadow over alternative music and culture continues to grow with streams in the hundreds of millions and widespread critical acclaim. Over the course of career thus far, the Canada-born disruptor has garnered four JUNO Awards, including 2020’s “Dance Recording of the Year” for the platinum smash “Love Me” with Felix Cartal and “Pop Album of the Year” for her previous two albums, Skin&Earth and Little Machines. She has sold out tours on multiple continents and powered collaborations with Travis Barker, deadmau5, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, and more. Now, she captivates like never before, kickstarting a new era with single “Prodigal Daughter.”

    WOW!

by jpleslie on 11/12/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

I gotta say I was a pretty casual LIGHTS fan. I liked her accoustic stuff, but wasn't all that into her electronic stuff... UNTIL THIS SHOW! She REALLY rocks, and the show was awesome. She's funny, gorgeous, talented, and puts on a great show. I would definitely go again. And....the Bowery Ballroom is still the greatest venue in New York City. LESS TERMINAL 5, MORE BOWERY BALLROOM.

    LIGHTS was EPIC!!!

by LittleTittle on 11/5/10Masquerade - Atlanta

The LIGHTS concert in Atlanta was one of the best expereinces I will remember. I'm not from Atlanta, but I do appreciate that she was able to come close to my hometown. The sound in the room got everyone on their feet. It was alive and eccentric.

Lights: one of the best live shows you'll see

by BecomingAvalon on 10/31/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Upon hearing tracks off of Lights' album The Listening, it's easy to assume that the heavy use of auto-tune and other "studio effects" on the album carry over heavily into her live shows. But this is a rare moment where the live shows actually surpass the recordings. Lights has a powerful voice that can easily compete with the pure, poppy vocals of artists such as Paramore and Taylor Swift, and has a very catchy and upbeat sound saturated in lyrics that hit close to home and are surprisingly emotionally heavy, all within the context of an energetic and colorful dance show. She not only delivers while performing, but takes the time to connect with the audience, sharing stories about her songs and her travels on the road. You can expect nothing but honesty, energy, and good times at a Lights show.

    Lights does it right!!

by craziemutant on 10/30/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Her music is amazing to begin with and when she performs that is amplified exponentially. She not only can sing with great range, but can also play the guitar, keyboard, and keytar. The show looked and sounded unbelievable. Lights brings in the crowd and not only performs that music but invites the audience to join in. The El Rey was also a great venue choice. Second time visiting and worth every thing.

    Lights, A MUST SEE!

by JonLovesLights on 10/29/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Simply Amazing. Last year when I was at Coachella & I witnessed a combination of Jay-Z and The Gorillaz play a live set, I thought it could and would never be topped, boy was I wrong. Lights absolutely blew me away, the visuals were stunning, her voice unbeatable by any, and with the sound of the live band behind her it absolutely set my heart a blaze. I will attend any and every Lights show that I can, no matter the price, because to be honest I would pay anything to relive that night. <3

    Lights rocked it

by BettieLover on 10/28/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

It was a great show. Everything was simple, from the 3-piece band to the cool, minimalistic light design as a backdrop, but it worked. Lights is a true artist in every sense - she gives her all every minute she's singing and playing, and she's a joy to watch and listen to. The music sounded great, and it was especially enjoyable when she performed solo on her acoustic guitar or on the piano. We had a GREAT time! Can't wait 'til she's back in town! =)

    LIGHTS just keeps getting better!

by Stacers13 on 10/28/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

What an amazing show! The venue was small, but the sound was amazing. It ended up being a full house by the time Jeremy Fisher finished opening for LIGHTS, who everyone was all clearly waiting for. Her set list was amazing, almost played ALL of her songs! Some old and definitely some new ones and she played some acoustically as well! And her new stage lights added such a cool effect to the overall show. She was simply amazing. Vocals were right on point and she was as modest as she always is. Constantly thanking us, her fans, and telling us stories and jokes... Really relating to us on a more personal level. By the end of the show she had everyone dancing to her beat. My BEST LIGHTS show yet. Definitely most memorable. LIGHTS is a force to be reckoned with. To anyone who says she can't sing without autotune. See her live and you will be forever changed.

BEST NIGHTS I'VE HAD IN A WHILE

by Jaaaamie on 10/28/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

This show definitely made it on my top 5 favorite shows list. The venue is really nice, the crowd was polite and friendly and the sound system wasn't bad. I was able to hear Lights' voice clearly. Her stage presence is amazing which got a lot of the people in the crowd, including myself hyped up. Honestly one of the best shows I've attended in a while.

I first saw LIGHTS at an Owl City concert earlier this year, I have been a big fan of her for a few years now and after that show I knew I had to see her live whenever she was in the states. The show in LA was part of her first headlining tour and boy did she kill it! I thought she was amazing the first time but she totally blew the Owl City show out of the water. Her vocals are AMAZING live. If you have her record imagine that times 10 bajillion times because she is that much better live. I say if you haven't then you need to go see her live, best performance I have honestly ever seen, she just gives off so much energy,

Could not be more in love with Lights

by BlueScissors on 10/28/10El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

As my friend has stated: "The only thing that tops a Lights concert, is another Lights concert." Lights never fails to bring her energy and charisma on stage, and before/after the show. The lighting was so much better this time around, and I love how she really engaged the audience. I stood front row center and got the full dose of Lights, and man am I all the more hooked! Honestly, I have no clue why she isn't more popular. So beautiful, so talented, so amazing and nice!
