About

AUCKLAND, NZ (June 27, 2019) As his blockbuster debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent ticks over to 1 billion streams worldwide and enters its fifth week at the top of the UK charts, Scottish singer-songwriter LEWIS CAPALDI has wasted no time in announcing his first show in New Zealand in 2020.

Tickets go on sale at 10am, Tuesday July 2.

My Live Nation members can secure tickets first during the pre-sale beginning 9am, Monday July 1 until 9am Tuesday July 2.

For complete tour and ticket information, visit: livenation.co.nz.

Capaldi has had a sensational 18 months in which his lovelorn songcraft and mind-blowing vocal abilities have bewitched listeners both at home and abroad.

Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent is the UK’s fastest selling debut of 2019 so far and tickets to his March 2020 tour of the UK and Ireland have disappeared within seconds of going on sale.

Still only 22, the sometimes heartbroken, often cheeky Scot’s signature tune is the extraordinary ‘Someone You Loved’. As the perfect showcase for his sweeping, emotive and unbelievably powerful voice, the song has proved a tonic to the jangled emotions of music lovers worldwide, including here in New Zealand.

Capaldi’s other singles have also managed to hit every nerve on the way through. In fact, his debut track ‘Bruises’, written as he recovered from a particularly nasty breakup, went absolutely bananas upon release in 2017 as it clocked up 28 million Spotify streams and made him the fastest unsigned artist ever to reach 25 million plays on the platform.

A prodigy from the get-go, Capaldi grew up in Bathgate – a small town near Glasgow – and was busy learning the drums and guitar by the age of two. Naturally, by the time he was nine, a young Lewis was seen sneaking into local pubs and blowing patrons away with his astonishing talents.

From there he honed his craft, letting his brothers record collection (filled with the best of Nirvana and Bob Dylan) influence him and building his own musical sensibilities. His penchant for sparse, emotionally resonant songcraft attracted attention as he distributed demo recordings of himself playing in a bathroom, eventually catching the ears of a curious local scene.

Flash forward a couple of years and we will find Lewis Capaldi hitting New Zealand in the middle of an absolute hot streak. Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent outsold the rest of the UK top 10 combined upon release last month also saw him nominated for The Brit’s Critics Choice award.

    I cried

    by L. G. on 5/24/23

I haven’t been to a concert in 6 years. I finally broke my concert cleanse and went to lewis capaldi and oh my goodness was it it worth it. He was so funny and interactive with his fans. He stopped singing mid song to make a joke and then went back into the song on a HIGH NOTE and sent CHILLS down my spine. He truly is one of the most amazing artists ever. I want to go back so badly. I cried during 4 of his songs because of how good he is. I told my friends about it and then they yelled at me to shut up and then I showed them the videos and they all said “i just got chills”

Amazing Show at the Armory- Lewis Capaldi

    by L. H. on 5/22/23

I had a great time at this concert. I cried through pretty much the whole show. He is an amazing singer with a kind heart and comedic soul. He gave his all with this show and it turned out perfectly. I had been looking forward to his concert since Covid started and it was definitely worth it. I cannot wait to see him again in the future. Loved his documentary as well!

    Venue not the best

by Capaldi Fan on 5/16/23South Side Ballroom - Dallas

Lewis was amazing and put on an amazing show. Unfortunately, there were way too many people at this event and the buidlimg was eay too small to hold that many. We were cramped. Couldnt see because there was no staggering...just peoples heads you couldnt see over. I wouldnt recommend this venue if you actually want to see the artist that is performing because its a battle the entire time. It was shoulder to shoulder and being surrounded at all times. Not a good venue. Great performance and performer though

    Amazing

by Tmh on 5/15/23713 Music Hall - Houston

Great venue! Easy access, parking, and entry. It was awesome inside with plenty of space, several bars that were never crowded, no bathroom lines. The show was great and felt up close and personal. I will certainly return for concerts here again and again.

    Wonderful.

by Tyler on 5/14/23713 Music Hall - Houston

Lewis and Medium build were amazing. They sounded great and were very entertaining. Dudes could sing. Also props to 713 music hall for helping my girlfriend and I out. She was on a scooter and they let us skip to line to enter the building and were very accommodating the whole time. Will definitely see Lewis again and will definitely visit the venue again!

Venue was horrible, artist was amazing

by SandraB on 5/14/23713 Music Hall - Houston

When purchasing tickets online, there isn’t very much explanation on exactly where you’re going to be standing or sitting. There’s no rhyme or reason to where the actual seating is going to be within the venue. I was under the impression that I paid almost $400 for tickets that had a seat only to find out I was gonna be standing on the third floor, looking down at the artist up against the wall in a roll of about 50 other people..

    Unexpected

by Nick T on 5/14/23713 Music Hall - Houston

Never knew this artist, went to concert with my 22 yr old daughter and I’m so happy I did. Great show, amazing voice, outstanding performance. The show and crowd were so immersed in the music and sang along and Lewis’ interaction with the crowd made it feel so intimate. I immediately downloaded all the hits off of iTunes.

    Best concert thus far!

by Liberty on 5/14/23713 Music Hall - Houston

My friend and I drove from Florida Thursday morning specifically to see Lewis because we love and appreciate his music, vocal range and personality so much! He did not disappoint! The venue was awesome and super cool, even though we bought GA balcony tickets we could see and hear everything perfectly and the size of the room made it more intimate.

    AMAZING

by John G on 5/14/23South Side Ballroom - Dallas

Lewis Capaldi is a truly gifted artist with a surreal voice, hilarious stage presence - one of the most entertaining shows we've been to in a while with an unbeatable talent. The venue was interesting, difficult to see in many locations, but acoustics were fine.
