Jubilee Auditorium is a lovely 😍 venue. This show was excellent. However, I am always disappointed with the volume musicians are at in these shows, and this one is no exception. I am forced to either use earplugs or cover my ears! In order to make out the words, I covered my ears. This definitely takes away from my enjoyment of the show. The sound was distorted.
I am Joni Mitchell’s greatest fan. To me she is the most poignant lyricist and has interpreted, projected, echoed and touched my life as no other poet. I also appreciate the poetry of Leonard Cohen as he has plumbed the arena of love and life. This show gave each artist opportunity to express, in their style, the amazing range of music and themes of Joni and Leonard. I loved the show. The back-up band was exceptional, they blew me away!
I loved the format. I learned a few new and interesting facts about both artists. The music was wonderful.
Dana Wylie and Joe Nolan have been on my 'favourites' list for years. Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell are beloved Canadian icons, also on my 'favourites' list. . . What could possibly go wrong! Nothing! Loved it!
I loved every minute of it, from the host's introduction to the music, storytelling and photos. If you are a fan of Joni or Leonard - this is a must-see. I also recommend it to anyone who appreciates music, history and a live band.
What an amazing experience! I thought it was going to be a musical not an actual concert. What a pleasant surprise. The band way tight and the story was so interesting. Hats off to the producer and the cast.
