About

LED ZEPPELIN II IN CONCERT:

Chicago-based tribute band Led Zeppelin II nails the look, sound, and feel of the legendary rockers' epic live shows. The uncanny likeness begins with charismatic vocalist Bruce Lamont, who’s perfected both the trademark wail and mystical mannerisms of original heavy metal frontman Robert Plant. Next up is guitarist Paul Kamp, who delivers his own impressive turn imitating the lightning fast runs and monolithic riffs of Jimmy Page. Reproducing the sophisticated synthesizers and low-end rumble of John Paul Jones, bassist Matthew Longbons maintains the group’s legendary groove. But it wouldn’t be “Rock and Roll” without the thunderous fills and booming beats of John Bonham, and Ian Lee matches Bonzo hit for hit. Ticket buyers who missed the defining sound of the ‘70s the first time around will witness the second coming as Led Zeppelin II bring a “Whole Lotta Love” to select stages across North America.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Led Zeppelin II’s Led-headed tribute is unique in its approach, recreating the spontaneity and joy of seeing Led Zeppelin live in their heyday instead of playing the “greatest hits” note for note. All four members took different roads before forming the tribute band in 2010: Singer Bruce Lamont spent time in various progressive metal groups such as Yakuza and Circle of Animals; Canadian-born drummer Ian Lee paid his dues playing with members of Cheap Trick, Veruca Salt, and Ministry; Matthew Longbons, who plays bass, keys, and mandolin, won the best unsigned bassist award at National Emergenza’s battle of the bands in 2004; And guitar virtuoso Paul Kamp has been shredding six-strings professionally since the age of 12. Together they form a musical force as impressive and diverse as the legends that inspired them -- earning the right to call themselves Led Zeppelin II.

Led Zeppelin II - Thank You!

by FiLLB on 1/17/11Vogue Theater - Indianapolis

I can't believe noone has written a review for Zepp II on here. This group of guys definitely capture the sound and mood of Led Zeppelin music. The Venue hardly had anyone in it for the show. I'm sure the band was disappointed but they rocked the place anyways. If you like Led Zeppelin music at all, you owe it to yourself to go see this band. They nailed every song. They even introduce themselves as Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, etc,. I would go see them again!
