About

To those in the know, funnyman Lavell Crawford is one of the hottest rising stars in the biz today.  Lavell has just been signed by Comedy Central to Star in and Executive Produce one of their first two multi-camera series for the network along with Will Ferrell's.
Lavell gained huge national exposure on NBC's,  "Last Comic Standing."  Not only did NBC take notice, promptly signing Lavell to a holding deal with the network, but also Comedy Central, offered him his own half-hour standup special, "Comedy Central Presents: Lavell Crawford" which aired in early 2009.  Lavell's stand out work includes appearances on "Shaquille O'Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam" which premiered on Showtime in December, "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam" on HBO, "Showtime at the Apollo, "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment", "Comic's Unleashed with Byron Allen", "Steve Harvey's Big Time, "Comedy Central's Premium Blend," "Motown Live" "BET's ComicView" and has appeared in the films "Baby's Mama Drama", "Beverlyhood", "Ghetto South Problems" and on the televised series "The Jamie Foxx Show,"  On stage, he played Ben in the hit play Men Cry in the Dark based on the Michael Baisden best seller. Lavell also recently appeared on stage with the critically acclaimed production Friends and Lovers, a stage production based on the novel by author Eric Jerome Dickey. Crawford played the scene-stealing "Bobby." The play also featured notable actors such as Miguel Nunez (Juwana Man), Leon (The Five Heartbeats), Monica Calhoun (The Best Man), Mel Jackson (Soul Food) and Maia Campbell (In The House).

He is also a frequent guest and host favorite on the popular E! late night talk show "Chelsea Lately".

Lavell has appeared at HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen, CO),  The Comedy Festival (Las Vegas, NV), Laffapalooza and at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.

Endeared by audiences far and wide, Lavell has built a very strong fan base playing theatres, arenas, colleges and comedy clubs and colleges across the nation.

He will be shooting a new Concert Film this October in his hometown of St. Louis.

    Awesome Show

by Lanna on 12/5/22The Joy Theater - New Orleans

The show was awesome I enjoyed it to the fullest. Only thing was a problem not a huge problem but the leg room once you were seated no room to stretch out your legs. I would love to attend another show.

    Gut-busting funny!!

by Vchopnola on 12/5/22The Joy Theater - New Orleans

I thought I was going to pee on myself multiple times. So glad we went to see him live. Lavell would be found guilty in a court for being too funny! I hope he returns to the 504 for another performance. I also liked that there was hometown talent to open the show with Shaddy Feelgood. The only thing I didn’t care for was the vulgar music that played pre-show while we were waiting for it to start. Given the average age of the audience, something like Frankie Beverly and Maze would’ve been more appropriate.

    Pretty Funny

by Nikki F on 12/5/22The Joy Theater - New Orleans

The show was pretty funny. The Joy Theater was a nice venue. One negative is the start time. The show was supposed to start at 9:30 but the opening act didn’t come out until 10:45!! By this time my husband was getting sleepy lol! The opener was very funny! We really enjoyed him! Lavell was funny as well but some of the jokes fell a little flat i.e. the one about the Popeyes drive thru. It went overly long. On the other hand he had some really funny jokes as well.

best show I have been to

by darla on 12/5/22The Joy Theater - New Orleans

When we arrived, we went in and got a drink, the lines were not crazy long, we got to our seats (may have been the best seats in the house). the first act came on and he was FUNNY! then Lavell came on and he was so funny your cheekbones hurt from laughing so hard! We had an amazing time!

    Disappointed

    by AKA on 12/3/22

When I bought the tickets I thought Lavell was the headliner. Very disappointed to find out he wasn't! Lavell had us laughing so hard! Corey Holcomb and his raunchy act ruined it, left early. Would have rated 5 stars for Lavell.

Most of the show was enjoyable

    by R. J. on 12/31/19DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

Tony Smothers hands down was the absolute funniest. I was not impresssed with the last comedian. I would have left early if I didn’t have folks ride with me. The drinks were way to expensive which is the reason we only bought 1. I wish the show would have started on time, but what can I expect for paying $200. CP time is real!!!!!!
