Lavell gained huge national exposure on NBC's,  "Last Comic Standing."  Not only did NBC take notice, promptly signing Lavell to a holding deal with the network, but also Comedy Central, offered him his own half-hour standup special, "Comedy Central Presents: Lavell Crawford" which aired in early 2009.  Lavell's stand out work includes appearances on "Shaquille O'Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam" which premiered on Showtime in December, "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam" on HBO, "Showtime at the Apollo, "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment", "Comic's Unleashed with Byron Allen", "Steve Harvey's Big Time, "Comedy Central's Premium Blend," "Motown Live" "BET's ComicView" and has appeared in the films "Baby's Mama Drama", "Beverlyhood", "Ghetto South Problems" and on the televised series "The Jamie Foxx Show,"  On stage, he played Ben in the hit play Men Cry in the Dark based on the Michael Baisden best seller. Lavell also recently appeared on stage with the critically acclaimed production Friends and Lovers, a stage production based on the novel by author Eric Jerome Dickey. Crawford played the scene-stealing "Bobby." The play also featured notable actors such as Miguel Nunez (Juwana Man), Leon (The Five Heartbeats), Monica Calhoun (The Best Man), Mel Jackson (Soul Food) and Maia Campbell (In The House).

He is also a frequent guest and host favorite on the popular E! late night talk show "Chelsea Lately".

Lavell has appeared at HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen, CO),  The Comedy Festival (Las Vegas, NV), Laffapalooza and at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.

He will be shooting a new Concert Film this October in his hometown of St. Louis.

    Lavell kept us laughing nonstop!

by Bosc2 on 10/26/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

I was impressed that he stood up the whole time. I wasn't all too thrilled on how late it was when he actually started but it was a great show despite the almost 2 hour delay. WE LOVE YOU LAVELL, NOW WHERE'S OUR MONEY????? (he knows what that means)

    Late Start

by 14years on 10/25/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

The show started 1 hour late and if I had not have drove 2.5 hours to see, I would have left. Once the show got started it wasn't bad. I also wish there would have been some other comedians there. There was a lot of walking in the audience which was very distracting as well. We were on the end which was good because my husband could stretch his legs. The couple beside us moved because it was so cramped.

by Nad10 on 10/25/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

OMG this dude is so funny. The show was great. He kept me laughing the whole time. I tried to take a break from laughing because my cheeks were hurting, but I couldn't because he was so funny. The jokes just kept rolling in. The beginning of the show was good too. The old lady that went up there to dance was hilarious. But the last chick that went up there to dance sat all the other ladies down. She did all the real old school dances.

    All Smiles... ; )

by SmilingKim on 10/25/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

I don't know where to start....I loved the ticket price. I was not too happy with the hidden fees that came out in the actual total, but felt like Lavell was worth it. Boy was I right. I had a great time from start to finish. I thought the customer service for the event was outstanding. I was impressed with the security, the ladies at the will call window, the ushers, and the management. After we got in and got seated and found that we were behind a camera and could not see the show up in the balcony level, I spoke with an usher who told me that he would talk to his manager. He then instructed us to go to the box office. We went, and the manager quickly addressed the issue and we had seats in the sixth row and a it was there that I witnessed the best comedy show I have ever seen in person. I was impressed with the warm up guy. Everything was awesome, no complaints. I even laughed so hard I almost fell out of my seat, boy was I embarrassed. Good job Lavell!!!...Also, I would absolutely attend another event at the Robert's Orpheum, the customer service was super impressive.

I love Lavell Crawford his comedy was side splitting Saturday night. The joke that he told about going to Hawaii, and what he thought was an older white man in a Spedo the size of an eye patch, had me laughing so hard I had a cramp in my side, and I was crying. I loved the show. But, what I didn't like about being taped for television was all the preparation for the taping like making us laugh hysterically and clap and scream loudly for the beginning and the end of the show, I thought it was too long and drawn out. I also thought it was unnecessary because Lavell is such a great comedian, he was going to get a standing ovation anyway.

Lavelle brought tears to our eyes....FROM LAUGHING

by AllyInSTL on 10/25/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

I won’t lie, after looking SO forward to seeing Lavelle on the 23rd of October, in St. Louis, my boyfriend and I fought all day before going to see him. I thought about selling our tickets, the last thing I wanted to do was go out, and I was far from being in the mood. However, after arriving, and seeing that I had scored us 3rd row seats, I started to feel a little better, and then the show started!!! It was AMAZING! We laughed, literally, from start to finish. This was only my 2nd comedy show ever, and I truly believe it is going to be almost impossible to top! We left hand in hand, wiping tears from our eyes from laughing so hard!! THANKS LAVELLE!! You helped more than you know!!

    Wasted time and money

by geraldf23 on 10/25/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

Lets start from the beginning., this theater did not open the doors untill 7pm ..The show suppose to started at 7...Finally sat in our seats at 7:45 only to wait till almost 9 for the show to begin..There where no other comedians that came to the stage except for the M.C which made no sense at all since there was no other comedians to introduce..That was very disappointing...This was a taping for a upcoming DVD and what they had us doing before the show was not cool..They had us applause before the show as if he just said something funny..So lame..Some of the jokes that Lavelle told was previous jokes that I already heard him say..I could not understand him at times , his voice gets irratating at times..He was not that funny and some guest was leaving way before the show ended...I expected better since this was a live taping and because STL is his home town..

by FutureMrsThomas on 10/25/10The Roberts Orpheum Theater - St Louis

Me and my fiance went to see Lavell this weekend and he was just as funny as when we watch him on TV. The seats were great, the price was great and the show was great.
