About The Laval Rocket
One of the newest teams in the American Hockey League represents and pays tribute to one of the most venerable franchises in all of hockey and to one of the greatest players of all time. Named for Maurice "The Rocket" Richard, the Laval Rocket is the second Montreal-area team to have been named for the Canadiens legend, after the QMJHL's Montreal Rocket (now the Charlottetown Islanders).
The Laval Rocket may have first taken the ice in 2017, but their origin as the top minor league affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens goes back more than half a century and through five provinces and one U.S. state.
Founded as the Houston Apollos of the Central Hockey League in 1964, the franchise transferred to the AHL in 1969 upon a move to Montreal. From there, they moved to various places in Eastern Canada, from Halifax to Sherbrooke, Quebec to Fredericton, New Brunswick to Quebec City and Hamilton, and, most recently to Newfoundland and Labrador, as the St. John's IceCaps.
There also is a shared history with several Edmonton Oilers affiliates through the Quebec Citadelles' merger with the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2002. The franchise has won five Calder Cups, including three as the Nova Scotia Voyageurs in 1972, 1976, and 1977, one as the Sherbrooke Canadians in 1985, and one as the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2007.
The Laval Rocket's home ice is the Place Bell, which opened in 2017 and lies within 20 kilometers of their parent club's arena, the Bell Centre. There are three rinks in the $200 million complex, which also includes the home of Les Canadiennes de Montréal of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.
The Rocket play in the North Division of the American Hockey League's Eastern Conference, where they do battle against the Binghamton Devils, Cleveland Monsters, Syracuse Crunch, Toronto Marlies, Rochester Americans, Belleville Senators, and Utica Comets.
Great experience ! The crowd was really hype and the party was on !
It was probably the game with the most ambiance un the history of the Laval Rocket, I would go back any time…
The playoff experience was amazing. The staff didn’t a great job getting the Rockets fans into the game.
What a game the rocket really show up to the game the fans were amazing let’s hope to see more playoff game this year! GO ROCKET GO
In addition to the Rocket winning the game, it was a good overall experience. Was really impressed with the opening number. Music and visuals were great. Two less enthusiastic review ites: + Concessions on the 200 level. Too few of them and too long to get food or a beverage. + The 2nd intermission music show was WAY tgoo loud. Not sure while you feel the need to fill every single second of non-hockey moment with noise, music, MC turned to the 11. Somewhat of a turn off for me.
Amazing game, amazing crowd, enjoyed the event! The show was amazing!
bigg game it went OT and rockets won with a beauty Go RoCKETS GOoO!!
The only place where they take cash is the outside parking 10$ u only know when u meet the guys… Inside gift store and restaurant are débit/crédit only without notice anywhere…. The rest was good
More seat/ticket control would be great because a bunch of unmannered kids were sitting front row, in empty seats, which were not them, annoying everyone around, without any intervention of staff.
The Events was Amazing , I Had Such a good Time, plus The Rocket Win the Games
The rocket win in such a nice game + we win the club piscine contest so very very nice
Atmosphere , game, seats were all great. We'll definitely return for another game
Amazing atmosphere, fun for the kids and a good chess option
Went to the Rocket’s game with my 2 kids and my wife on saturday. Total domination by our team, great saves in 3rd by Poulin. Pictures with Cosmo and a lot of funn
I really like going to Rocket’s games because it’s always nice and cool! The players are nice and make us feel happy to be there!
Very enjoyable. Clean, polite staff. Will certainly go again soon (this was my first time)
The team was horrible but that happens. What was really awful was everything surrounding the game, especially the terrible band, the constant cacophony between plays and the attempts to make it appear that 5he team was doing great. My worse live hockey game.
Great game. High caliber hockey at an affordable price. Rocket lost in overtime but still great to watch. Awesome venue. Amazing atmosphere.
From leaving home to getting there was easy. Greated at the door. People dressed for Halloween. Lots of kids, music is awesome. Seat are comfortable and view is good from anywhere. Lots of atmosphere. Highly recommend going to Place Bell.
Despite a loss in overtime, the Rocket showed great offense and energy. Organisation at Place Bell is great, electronic tickets and Vaxx pass workes fine. Althought, since there is no food/drinks mobile vendors, the line ups for food concessions becomes huge once the game started.
