Country musician Larry Fleet's style is dripping with soul.
Influenced by Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Etta James, and more, Fleet is aware of the vibe he brings to not only his songwriting but his stage presence.
Born in White Bluff, Tennessee, Fleet was drawn to music from a young age. It was hard not to be, with White Bluff sitting a mere 30 minutes from Nashville and a family full of musicians surrounding his childhood. It was inevitable that 6-year-old Fleet would start playing and singing in his family's bluegrass band.
As he grew as a singer/songwriter, Fleet moved to Chattanooga before heading to Nashville, something many musicians do to test their chops. After an early publishing deal fell through, he continued working as a manual laborer and electrician to support himself and his wife while writing songs.
His big break came in 2017 when Jake Owen, a successful singer/songwriter in his own right, saw Fleet performing at a friend's barn wedding.
Fleet told Holler magazine that Owen approached him to ask him who he had a record deal with. Taken aback, Fleet explained he wasn't signed and was doing concrete work for money. The two struck up a deal: Larry Fleet would come on the road as Jake Owen's opening act, and if it didn't work out, well, no hard feelings.
The rest of the story reads like a fairy tale.
Fleet placed second on the country music TV show "Real Country," by which time he had a handful of independent singles under his belt, including "Wasted Time," "Working Man" and "Die Young."
His debut single, "Where I Find God," which he wrote with Nashville-based songwriter Connie Harrington, emerged from his "Gospel Song Sunday" series that he developed for his social media and garnered him a solid following.
His easygoing, humble demeanor is also partly responsible for his relatability and devoted fans. He writes from the heart, using his own experiences with his faith, family and music as the inspiration for his writing.
But it isn't just relatability that keeps people coming back for more. Fleet is skilled at writing thoughtful lyrics, establishing the right hooks and mixing his soulful vibe with the familiar country twang.
Stack of Records, his 2021 album, proves he can match wits with the finest writers and musicians in town. Fleet, who co-wrote all of the tracks on the album, exposes his soul, thoughts, and feelings to the degree that only the most talented can accomplish.
A baritone voice and a hopeful country twang make Larry Fleet one of the country musicians you'll be glad you saw live. Get tickets to see Larry Fleet live on tour today at Ticketmaster.
Larry fleet was phenomenal. One of the best concert experiences ive been to
GREAT VENUE!!! Larry Fleet did NOT disappoint! Most we've enjoyed a show in many years. We got GA tickets (first time I've had GA Tickets at Charleston Music Hall) and I was a little skeptical at first. Thought we'd give it a try and we had a blast! What a great night of music. I would go again in heartbeat! Please bring Larry Fleet back again!
Both shows I attend it for Larry and Ben were amazing and it turned out to be an awesome weekend all the way around spending it with my two favorite artists
We enjoyed the atmosphere of the smaller venue and Larry did not disappoint. My only complaint would be that the venue only sold beer, no cocktails.
Larry’s performance was great. Really enjoyed his singing and his band is awesome too. The only thing was the sound when Larry was talking. You couldn’t understand hardly anything he said. Of course everybody on the floor was talking and that didn’t help. The music you could understand and was great.
Opener was hard to understand at times but still did a good job! Larry fleet was amazing as expected and honestly sound better live than everywhere else!! Really love the smaller venues as it lets the show be more of an experience than a concert
Larry Fleet is a very talented artist no matter the venue but the Gramercy Theater was a great with venue with good acoustics and gave the show a more intimate feeling. Highly recommend both the venue and the artist!
The band was tight, on point and most importantly they had great energy that was infectious. All of the arrangements gave the music pop and flare that made the songs full of extra life. You can tell these guys love playing as much as we were loving listening. Mixing in some cover tunes that hit all the right nostalgia sweet spots throughout the show was a great touch. You can really hear all of their influences being channeled in their playing and singing. Well worth the price of admission and can’t wait to see them again.
Great show at an intimate venue in NYC. East in an out experience. parked two blocks away on street. Mic issues at first but quickly resolved. Great overall experience. Would recommend Larry and the theater to anyone
The whole experiance was excellent. Larry Fleet and his band were great. They played over 2 hours and sounded excellent. It was our first time at the Birchmere which is a wonderful venue. We would go back again.
Megan was great but Larry was incredible. Loved the show and the music. So thankful to have a great venue in FS and it’s great performers coming in. Thank you temple live.
First off . We didnt know about Mae Estes . What a great talent she is. Then Larry taking stage was awesome . The small venue at Temple made every seat in the house a personal touch. We drove from Ruston, La. To see show and it was worth the drive. I hope to see Larry play again !
Went to Morgan Wallet concert last night hoping to see Larry Fleet but he was not there. The tickets were given as a Christmas gift from our kids as they know how much we like him. Hopefully he’ll come to the West Coast again soon.
I like country music, but not super familiar with all the new artists. I went to a Morgan Wallen x Hardy concert, and was pleasantly suprised by Larry Fleet! I have had his album on repeat since March! Amazing vocalist. I will look forward to seeing him on the big stage headlining soon.
Best concert in a long time! Larry fleet and 49 Winchester WOW!!!
Concert was in a small more intimate venue which I always love. Larry played to the crowd and was very interactive which was super fun. Gotta love Crazy Legs. All Great musicians. Excellent choice in opening band with 49 Winchester !!
Need to make people aware of Five Flags Theater vs Five Flages Arena. Theater is much better venue.
Good concert. Larry Fleet show was great. Hes great live and puts on a good concert. Talks with the crowd and wants to enterain. The venue was quite small but okay. It was the five flags theater. The seats are quite small & not enough leg room when you sit. Im glad i got 1 seat next to the aisle so my husband could stretch out his legs...otherwise he probably would have left early in the show because his legs were so cramped. I loved that my seats were really close to the stage though.
