About
Lamp are a Japanese Shibuya-kei and jazz-pop band from Japan. The trio consists of guitarist and songwriter Taiyō Someya, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Yusuke Nagai and vocalist and flutist Kaori Sakakibara. Upon playing their first show in 2001, the band released their debut album Soyokaze Apartment Room 201 in 2003, with many of their lyrics inspired by manga artist Yoshiharu Tsuge. Lamp’s subsequent albums include For Lovers (2002), Komorebi Dori Nite (2005), Lamp Illusion (2008), The Poetry Of August (2010), Tōkyō Utopia Communications (2011), Yume (2014), Her Watch (2018) and Stardust in Blue (2020). Lamp have also released two compilation albums and a live studio set titled A Distant Shore Asia Tour 2018. The band’s most recent album, Dusk to Dawn, was released in 2023.
