About Ladies Night R&B Super Jam
For years, Ladies Night R&B Super Jam has lit up Valentine's Day season with smooth soul from some of R&B's biggest stars. The 2019 installment at Barclays Center will be headlined by legendary singer-songwriter Brian McKnight and First Lady of Bad Boy Records Faith Evans.
McKnight, who has been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards, is known for his buttery voice, which made singles like the lovelorn "Back at One" and the Vanessa Williams duet "Love Is" radio staples. His latest album, 2017's Genesis, updates his sound but keeps his commitment to solid songwriting intact.
Evans was a gold-selling R&B star from her debut. Her vocal turn on Puff Daddy's "I'll Be Missing You" — the 1997 elegy for her late husband The Notorious B.I.G. — made her a pop-radio staple. Her most recent album, The King & I, reconnects her with Biggie on songs produced by Evans and longtime Bad Boy collaborator Stevie J.
Atlanta's Jagged Edge ("Where the Party At," "Walked Outta Heaven"), Indianapolis' After 7 ("Can't Stop," "Heat of the Moment"), and Atlanta's Silk ("Freak Me," "I Can Go Deep") will bring the throwback heat with their vocal harmonies and seductive lyrics. Reggae duo Chaka Demus & Pliers will heat up the cold February night with reggae tracks like the worldwide smash "Murder She Wrote."
Philadelphia-based soul explorer Musiq Soulchild will perform forward-thinking tracks like his 2002 smash "Halfcrazy" and songs from his horizon-minded 2017 double album Feel the Real. One-time teen sensation Mario will show off his grown-up side, which he flaunted on his 2017 album Dancing Shadows.
Tough-talking ladies K. Michelle ("Can't Raise a Man," "V.S.O.P."), Marsha Ambrosius ("Hope She Cheats on You [With a Basketball Player]," "Cold War"), and Lil' Kim ("How Many Licks," "Magic Stick") will be on hand to hold it down for any audience members who, while in the mood to celebrate love, are also more than happy to claim their status as strong women in song.
The show was great parking was great entering. Was a breeze
I was in the handicap session lined up outside and the doors was suppose to open at seven instead opened about twenty minutes later there was glitches with the system which delayed production we were told. We missed Jodeci because of the Late start and had to leave because we were being picked up. The only performer that I seen I had a problem with was faith she walked off the stage and sounded horrible..in my opinion for the money I paid it should’ve been better organized I was very surprised and disappointed
The event appeared to be rushed, unorganized. Overall it was pretty good. Love my 90's era. Love the Lox performance. Well organized and put together. Robyn Thicke great performance. Brian McKnight vocals for days. Jodeci was ok. Silk and Kenny Lattimore was great also
The concert was too disorganized and the sound was horrible. The artist took too much time to get on stage and had us waiting. Robin Thicke and The Lox were the best ones!
It was very entertaining, but I will not be going back
I had a wonderful time, no issues afterwards, no problems getting in even though it was a big crowd, no problems with seating and the show was great. Everyone that was on the card graced the stage !!!! Great show !
Entry to the event was delayed due to "Artist Rehearsal"Start of Event was 15 Min late! All the artist performance were Enjoyable with exception of Faith Evans. She Only did 2 songs did Not sing, but only Harmonized. Her Background singers were better. This was due to sound issues she claimed before she Exited. Sound Issues seemed to be had by all artists for the Entire event. Not sure if "ATC"was to blame or if each artist had their own sound peeps. Jodeci was Amazing!
Loved everyone except Faith Evan’s and Jodeci. Jodeci got to us at midnight and the volume was turned up to an unbearable level. We had to leave because overall the sound system was subpar. We lefts shortly after Jodeci got on stage. The show started at 8 so we were pretty wiped out. Not sure why the Lox was included either. It wasn’t at all what I expected compared to other concerts in other cities.
Overall to LOUD Faith did not perform well At ALL A real Artist does not need A Mike Robin Thick was Good
It was not what I expected. Lots of wasted time. Many sound trouble. Music was to loud and hard to understand
I was really looking forward to seeing Faith Evans the most and was very disappointed that she disappeared off stage for half of her set. She sang maybe 2 songs and complained about sound quality. The show was entirely too long. Some DJs were great while we waited for the next act. The Lox were amazing! Most people left by the time Jodeci performed.
I must say it was a great experience for me because it's my first time at the Barclay and I will return in the future
The lineup was amazing. The sound was terrible. All artists complained about their sound. The concert started late so all artists had to cut their set short. The concert didn’t finish until after midnight. Many left early because of the poor quality. The doors did not open at 7. They opened late as well. Drinks and food were overpriced. The production team needs to do better if they plan to do this concert every year.
The audio was not good. Sounded more like noise not music.
The event was great been going for the last 8 years. It use to be on Thursdays. Faith evans was not good hate to say that.
The show was a 3 out of 10. I didn’t really have good seats like that. The music was not all that great and the sound quality was horrible. I feel like I got cheated out of Faith Evans performance and they didn’t do well on her sound either. Jodeci took too long to come out and didn’t do a good job either.
The sound systems were not good for the artist. I could barley hear them. The bass so bad I could still feel the vibration from outside even before the concert finished.
The performers were great but the smoking was out of control. Also, the chairs were so uncomfortable for floor seating and the sound was horrible, one performer couldn't finish their performance because the sound was so bad. Overall without the weed smoking, I would've been ok but all the negative factors made the experience extremely uncomfortable to say the least. The staff was great though.
This concert was marketed as R&B! Some of the performances were saturated with unnecessary profanity until we had to walk out. The technical difficulties made the event appear poorly put together and amateur. Kenny Lattimore, Brian McKnight, Silk, and Robin Thicke were very good. So I'm giving each of them a star! Of course we were looking forward to seeing Faith & Jodeci... what a disappointment!
Show was cool but the sound system team needs help, seems like they lack communication with each other. Every time a new person came on stage there was issues with the sound. Too much DJ and quiet time in between sets. Show ended up being 5 hours for no reason.
