Beautiful and innovative performance! I would highly recommend Turn It Out with Tiler Peck and Friends.
I was gifted a ticket to Turn It Out with Tiler Peck & Friends. Usually ballet is not my favorite dance form to watch, but this show was INCREDIBLE. I loved the integration of tap, hip hop, and breakdancing. I kept thinking to myself, "How could someone even imagine this show up?"10/10 recommend!!
Each piece was different from the type of ballet I’ve seen before. I loved the surprises in style, costuming, and music. Even in the dancers’ body shapes. Great show and I would go again bringing friends!
Incredible, raw, real and legit dancing….BRAVO Tiler and friends! Alignment and technique fully displayed showing just how much range elite dancers have. My 8 yr old aspiring dancer was in awe and she’s so motivated to pursue her dance dreams thanks to these amazing dancers.
Besides the nasty women that I sat next to trying to find the correct seat, everything was wonderful! Perfect lighting, sound and performance!
Great facility at a great location. The entire stuff was courteous. She show was spectacular!
The show was great...I enjoyed DeeDee Bridgewater and Kurt Selling, but too much storytelling between songs. Musicians very talented...overall a great show. The venue, Balboa Theatre is beautiful...acoustics very good.
I was very disappointed with the Monterey Jazz Festival On Tour. I am sure the audience was there to see the two headliners Kurt Elling and Dee Dee Bridgewater. They were fabulous but they only sang 2 numbers together and in addition 2 songs each during a hour and a half concert. The rest of the evening was performed without them by the quartet. Had I known their very limited presence I would not have attended.
I am so grateful to the La Jolla Music Society for bringing la gran Senora Lila Downs to San Diego. She is a living legend and treasure. The concert was amazing. I am not sure of the details of arranging the concert. I believe a bigger and more spacious venue would have been a little better. The old seats are cramping and difficult. There was no room to dance.
We had a very enjoyable time, enjoyed the music and shared the enthusiasm of the other Lila fans.
