The Hip Hop Legends was a good show, however I did not like standing in line for over an hour. Also the show didn't start until almost 1am. The show itself was good though. I enjoyed seeing Kurtis Blow, the Cold Crush Brothers, Rob Base and the Sugar Hill Gang. Classic music!
tickets pre paid online at $35 and was suppose to center staged. when we arrive the staged had been moved from the noted way on ticketmaster online so my $35 tik was now so far away i was on the far right side and could even see the front of stage mean while general admission tiks sold the day of the concert was center stage and $20!!!! I want a refund for 2 tiks
The overall concert was ok, the best thing was that it was all ol'skool, stuff I grow up on so that was GREAT hearing real rap again! Was disappointed that MC Shan didnt do more of his music and my favorite song he just quoted a verse in it and then left.
This was the worst line up/show ever. find some new Old Skool
Ws not happy at all with the show , The performance was not good at all, kurtis blow was late. Next year try to do better dont know if I would go!!!!!
This event was rescheduled due to rain on Sat 7/11 however the show should have just been cancelled and money refunded. Gates opened at 5:00 and the show was over at 7:35 - the time Big Daddy Kane ended his 35 minute set. After sitting another 1/2 hour listening to a DJ spin the same records over again, the crowd was notified that Curis Blow wasn't even in Columbus. We were asked just to sit tight and wait. So, basically we got 3/4 of the show promised on the flyers. I could have just stayed home and saved myself the cost of a DJ show.
I didn't like that some of the performers were rushed. Sang few songs and left. Also one artist Kurtis Blow was late-he went home went concert was postponed-Then when he showed up he sang two songs and ended the concert. The concert should have never been postpond the tickets stated rain or shine. The concert could have been delayed later in evening same day.
It was a great show, beside Kurtis Blow showing up late, from what i heard. I didnt bother to stay. Big Daddy Kane put on the best act. He still has it. Cant wait until the next one. The weather was great on Sunday.
I have seen high school talent shows that were better organized. The promoters and organizers should be ashamed of themselves.
This was a show well worth the money! The atmosphere at the ball park was fantastic, though the stage could of been a little closer to the fans. There is nothing like Ole School Hip Hop, live and outdoors to make one reflect on 'Back in the day..."
The show was great it wasn't nothin but a good ol jam session of the ol school hits everyone was dancing and having a good time. Big Daddy Kane was great he did he's thang.
made you remember your past; maybe see someone from your past/reliving youth for a moment in time//////time and place of the event was confused by change, not enough notice/If you want to see HIPHOP-old school this is the event to go too
I didn't enjoy the concert because the last act which did not show up. We were led on the entire time that he was going to perform and he never did, so we left. Kurtis Blow and Bigaddy Kane were the reason that we purchased our tickets
Big Daddy Kane had a 5 star performance... I hope he comes back next year...Biz Markie and Roxanne Shanté both put on a great show... but MC Shan was on and off in a blink of an eye... But I thank him for at least performing knowing he had to leave right after. I do not know if Kurtis Blow ever showed up I left after I found out that he was not even on a plane headed to Columbus... The intermissions were great people were partying and dancing in the crown having dance battles and everything
It was very slow and the fact the the headliner had problems attending is real bad. It was a better day since the rain delay on Saturday but, disappointing waiting an hour for 2 songs from Kurtis Blow. Wow. Overall I think that Columbus made the day with the fans dancing the DJ's mixing and the sunny day made for a nice outing. But, if Kurtis Blow big ego can't allow him to perform properly then explore other artist that appreciate having fans of hip-hop for over 20+ years.
