    The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra is populated with a set of highly skilled musicians, arrangers and performers. They preserve the Kansas City jazz heritages as well as update current works into their big band format. We have seen and heard big bands elsewhere in the country; none are better than the KCJO.

    Our group really wanted to tap our toes to the terrific tunes but our knees were being indented by the seats in front of us. So cramped. Liberty Hall balcony is not a person-friendly place to be if you are over 5'8". The KC Jazz Orchestra gets 5 stars and the venue 3 stars.

    I absolutely loved the music! The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra was incredible. The venue was beautiful but I was in the balcony and I was so uncomfortable. The seating is from a bygone era and being a bigger guy I had to stand off to the side most of the time because there was no leg room. Also, my wife and I were under the impression the lady singer was the main attraction but she was only on stage for maybe an hour. All in all, a fun time, but could have been better.
