Performer Kody West is originally from Denton, Texas, and specializes in homegrown, guitar-driven country-rock music. Growing up in Denton, West was inspired by classic country artists such as Johnny Cash and began playing guitar at age 9. By high school, West started playing acoustic gigs around Texas, opening for acts like Dalton Domino & The Front Porch Family Band and participating in songwriting competitions in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
By 2015, West became Domino's tour manager, giving him an opportunity to learn more about the music business, particularly when it comes to making a living on the road. West also frequently opened for Domino during this time.
The following year, West released his debut EP, Higher Ground, produced by Ben Hussey and Josh Serrato and featuring the single "Playing Cards." West also formed a backing band and started work on his debut LP, 2017's Green. West also started touring with additional country acts, such as Charlie Robison, Whiskey Myers, Austin Meade, and Koe Wetzel.
In 2020, West released his sophomore album, Overgrown, which he recorded in his hometown of Denton and features the singles "Alone" and "October." Since releasing Overgrown, West has released a string of singles, including "Falling," "Buried Alive," "Let You Go," and "Circles."
A staple of the live music scene, West has earned critical praise for his loyal Texas fanbase, many of whom travel out of state to catch West's shows, and his '90s grunge-inspired take on grassroots country rock.
Kody West boasts more than 765,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with his most played track being "Million Miles" Green.

Despite loving Kody West’s music, the concert was less than expected. The sound was completely off with the drums loader than his vocals. The crowd couldn’t here him singing and it was very disappointing. Would like to see them someday again in concert
