Kodak Black In Concert
Florida rapper Kodak Black's rise continues apace. Released in December 2018, his second album, âDying to Live,' shot to No. 1 on the Billboard charts, thanks in large part to the irresistible steel-drummed jam "ZEZE" (featuring Travis Scott and Migos' Offset) and the tropical-trap earworm "MoshPit" (with Juice WRLD). Kodak is hitting the road in 2019, supplementing his minimalist beats with live guitar and keyboards on a spring 2019 tour of small theaters and superclubs.Â
Kodak Black Background
Southern Florida has been at the forefront of the moody lo-fi hip-hop subgenre known as SoundCloud rap, and while Pompano Beach MC Kodak Black has skirted the peripheries of that scene, he's really a product of Instagram. The raspy-voiced, face-tattooed rapper born Dieuson Octave acquired the neighborhood nickname Lil Black as a kid growing up in the Golden Acres housing project, before adopting the Kodak Black moniker as his Instagram handle and stage name. In 2013, when he was just 16, Kodak released âProject Baby,' the first in a series of mixtapes that showcased his raw, lyrical perspective he came by honestly. His big break came in 2015, when, following the viral success of his freestyled single "No Flockin," he signed on with Atlantic Records, and his induction into hip-hop's upper echelons was further confirmed when Drake posted an Instagram video of himself dancing to Kodak's trap slow jam "Skrt." Kodak finally dropped his proper full-length debut, âPainting Pictures,' in 2017 â a star-studded effort (with guest spots by Young Thug, Future, and Jeezy) that debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200. A few months later, he released another mixtape, âProject Baby 2,' featuring "Roll in Peace," his hit collaboration with SoundCloud rap's reigning enfant terrible at the time, XXXTENTACION. But Kodak's most notable achievement of 2017 wasn't even his own track â Cardi B's world-beating smash single "Bodak Yellow" didn't just reference Kodak in its title, the entire song was built on his "No Flockin" flow.

He was probably off too many bars and he only sang the lines he wanted to. The DJ was really creepy and kept stopping the music to "hype" up the crowd with weird questions. It was all just a weird experience. Do not recommend a Kodak concert.
This show was absolutely terrible. Rapped over his own recording and mostly was just standing on stage not rapping at all, walking back and forth. Even the people standing on the stage in VIP looked bored. Don't waste your money on Kodak performing, it was butt.
It was great ,loved it , just tired of seeing boring pre shows , need big DMV artist kind Q da fool or fat trel or shabazz
Lots of great energy, I even got pulled on stage to sing with him. 10/10
The concert was lit from start to finish... Kodak knows how to put on a show!!
KODAKS PREFORMANCE WAS UNFORGETTABLE WORTH EVERY DOLLAR. WILL BE RETURNING TO ANY FUTURE CONCERTS WITH KODAK AT THE ELCTRIC FACTORY
Idk what this show was trying to do..... all we saw were so many people on stage just standing there trying to look cool and snap themselves on stage while Kodak repeating the same Lauryn hill song 4 times to get his part. The whole night he just danced alittle and stood there. Everyone looked confused. This show was by far the worst show I've been to. Having everyone wait hours for a quick show wasn't worth money spent. People left little by little. I couldn't wait until it was over.
The dj and sound sucked almost as bad as Kodaks lack of a performance. He put 0 effort into his performance and left out the only decent songs from his latest album
All together Kodak put on a great show. The Djs played good music while we waited from artist to artist and Kodak was very interactive with the Audience
Love Kodak but I was expecting better the DJ had his mic louder thank Kodak & wouldn't stop talking and let Kodak sing
Nice Lil show every thing was good Lil yak showed out
I had a blast! The performances were amazing. Kodak is a great performer!
Extreamly overpriced and poor performance. Did not enjoy waiting for 3 hrs
it wasn't good and wasn't super hyped, kodack took forver to come out
Kodak showed up extremely late...almost 10pm he was finally on stage...to end the show by damn near walking off stage without any warning at 11pm...so we paid to see him for an hour dance to Ashanti and sing a couple of his songs. Disappointing to my daughter who got tickets for her 16th bday...she was a die hard fan...hasnt played his music since the concert. Way to show up for the teens that idolize you Kodak! Venue was a complete smoke fest...our clothes reaked of marijuana.
He's is an averagw rapper, love bumping his music but hes just not a performer, he brought out some wack rappers which is usually what happens at these low budget concerts but the fact that he brought out the 99 jamz dj to dj for an HOUR AND A HALF is a slap to the face. I PAID MONEY TO GO SEE KODAK NOT THE DJ, the Dj was djing for more time than kodak got to perform.
He barely performed and when he did it was him hopping in and out of the music
I am one of his biggest fans but I was disappointed with his performance. He left without an appropriate exit and he was just jamming to other songs he barely rapped I feel like for it being his 1st show out he should of showed his fans more love.
Kodak black is just not a great performer. I felt like this concert was completely overhyped. He played a lot of the songs that not too many people knew.
