They were performing with a group from Sweden that did all ABBA songs. Incredible performance by both. Could not have been happier with a beautiful night of music
Bought tickets as a gift for a friend. She and her husband enjoyed the concert very much.
ABBA with the KSO on 4/15/23 - I adore ABBA, love the KSO, and have seen quite a few concerts at the Civic Auditorium over the years. However, the sound mixing at this show was absolutely horrendous - whenever the vocalists hit any higher notes (which is often in ABBA songs!) there was an incredibly loud buzzing sound that sounded a bit like blown speakers. My husband and I left before intermission, and found a man sitting in the lobby; he had left the show for the same reason we had. I reached out to a friend who works as an audio engineer, and his guess was that the person mixing the show had lost their high frequency hearing, and that an older audience would be unable to hear what was happening. (The crowd that night seemed to be mostly seniors. My husband and I are both in our 40s, as was the other person who left.) If the KSO wants to attract a "younger" crowd, they should consider having someone with intact hearing at sound check.
Fantastic evening. I have never been disappointed with any Pop Series performances with the KSO. I have been a season ticket holder for decades.
The crawling and creeping forward of cars due to more than one event transpiring at the same time made timely entry into the garage impossible. The concert had to be held up 15 extra minutes from starting as people’s arrival into the venue was so delayed. The extra time it took for one woman to process each driver’s credit card seemed a poor tactic that only exacerbated the situation. I hope a solution to this stressful and frustrating experience can be found. The concert performance was GREAT!
What a great performance! The symphony along with the Abba Tribute band was superb. It was a night to remember!
The tribute band was absolutely wonderful! Could not have asked for a better ABBA performance. With that being said, that’s all we heard. We were sitting middle left on the floor level and BARELY heard KSO through the drummer and keyboard in front of them. That was definitely a let down as I wish the orchestra had been integrated more into the performance. It would have been nice to see the KSO perform an orchestral ABBA song on their own at least once too.
The KSO pairing up with Waterloo made for a fantastic ABBA tribute! Great venue, great organization and amazing entertainment.

The entertainment was fantastic! One minor drawback… The Knoxville, Civic Coliseum, has no elevator, our tickets were in the balcony, and my friend is confined to a walker. In spite of these challenges, we had a terrific time.
The soloist was great—especially enjoyed her bits of song info; special musicians enhanced the symphony; the orchestra played spectacularly; the conductor livened the performance and the audience was grateful and behaved!!
The show was one of the best I have see! Amanda Cole was amazing! She very entertaining and of course the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is always great!

Wonderful music presentation. Loved the historical background given by the conductor. Piano solo was magnificent. Hard to believe she is the regular pianist. Can’t wait for next season.
This was the second concert we attended in recent months by the Knoxville Symphony and we continue to be impressed by this wonderful orchestra and its talented director. We loved the program, it was executed very professionally and beautifully. The piano soloist was truly amazing and channeled Mozart so well, we at times thought it was Mozart personally who was playing for us! Thank you, everyone in the KSO, for keeping classical music alive in Knoxville and doing such a fine job of it, too. We will definitely be back for more!
Orchestra top notch! Selection of Broadway songs, newer and older classics, top notch! Two Broadway guest vocalists superp! Cirque performers class act and fluid performance with the music and vocalists. Wonderful experience from beginning to end!
This was a great concept and very unusual for an orchestra concert, even a pops one. The circus performers were wonderful— we've been to several Cirque du Soleil performances and this was just as good. The two singers were also terrific— definitely Broadway class. And our wonderful Knoxville Symphony sounded great, with the added amplification in the Civic Auditorium providing an extra dimension. Thanks so much for bringing this production to us!
The talent was amazing. The orchestra, aerialists, acrobats, magic and everything was enjoyable from start to finish.
I do not want to have to install Tiketmaster app in order to attend a concert! I want the old option of printing at home. Please consider this. This WILL factor in my future concerts.
