It draged along. Lack of drama. Poor singing performances coupled with missed lines. Lacked polish.
South Pacific was phenomenal! The orchestra was exceptional in the hands of Aaron Kula. The acting, superb!! A thoroughly enjoyably afternoon.
well worth it, great music and singers. Loved every minute of the performance.
The band was terrific. They made the old melodies come alive to Jazz. The pianist was fantastic,as was the vibrophone
The group were outstanding performers who understood the audience and played great music.
We have been coming to this concert for many years. This year we recommend the concerts to several friends and they came. We were very disappointed in the program and so were our friends. It was a drastic change from the past by featuring Bernstein's symphony. We go to many concerts given by orchestras as such. Klezmer is unique and that's why we come. Past events have featured soloists or choruses. You've had instruments play solos. They all had connection to European Klezmer and Latin American was introduced which was great. This concert had the same Cuban beat the whole time and became quite boring. Klezmer concerts should be kept as presented in the past. There was a variety. The pictures were also duplicated & became uninteresting.
The Bernstein Jeremiah Symphony was beautifully presented and enjoyable. However, the main reason for attending was to hear authentic Klezmer music--ethnic, eastern European, shtetl music and that was very disappointing. Instead we had some Jewish melodies so carefully crafted into the music that they were almost obscure. The music and the photos presented were CUBAN. If we had wanted a Cuban experience, we would NOT have attended a JEWISH CULTURE GATHERING....we would have gone to Miami. We left the concert early after we determined it wasn't traditional Klezmer music as we had hoped and assumed.
