Overall it was a good show. Most of the opening bands were decent which is usually hard to come by when there are 5 openers. Hadn't seen Kittie in a couple of years so it was nice to see them again.
Kittie was amazing! If I ever needed a reminder why I love these 4 amazing woman, I received it at the concert. They can rock like no other! I cannot wait until they come through town again. My favorite band of all time.
This show was completely amazing!!!! I was soooo pysched to see kittie and cant wait til they come back!!
Wasn't sure what to expect going in. Kittie is one of my favorite bands in part due to the blend of screaming & singing vocals. So I wasn't sure how it would come out live. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. The ladies came out and played a 15 minute non-stop set that was loud, agressive, and just plain awesome. They played like this the whole night going 10-15 minutes straight with probably no more than a minute in between the sets. The only disappointment was they didn't play Brackish. I should also say that despite the reputation of the venue, Alrosa Villa, the place wasn't nearly as bad as people say. Overall it was a great show and fun night. If you have ever thought about seeing Kittie and have hesitated, don't, they are well worth the price of admission.
The entire show was insane superkreep, as well as dirge within, also got to meet each band after their set, while all the bands played well, kittie was the the best in my opinion. They opened the set with what I believe is the title track of their unreleased album "I've failed you". The played songs mostly from the album in the black. Even after their set they came out and took pics and signed autographs for everyone that asked, VERY COOL. Even after that all the bands and some fans did a blacktooth grin shot in celebration of dimebag's birthday at midnight.
Dirge Within was awesome! Loved their new songs! Kittie was great to see live!
Completely bad ass show! Dirtfedd opened up with an energy packed, heavy set followed up by the amazing ladies of Kittie how definately delivered. Wrap the night up with the fact that I got to meet them after the show and it was an incrediable night all around. I would definately see them again if I get the chance.
Kittie brought the house down!! Thier raw metal assualt has not slowed down one bit! I had wanted to see them for a long time, and was not disappointed! There set was vey tight, and they put all thier energy into every song..Heard several of my favorites.
This concert was incredible. I loved every single band there, and it couldnt've worked out better because Kittie wasn't there. I cant stand that band. I loved all the others, espically Asking Alexandria and Born of Osiris. Danny Worsnop (from AA) is really funny. All in all, the bands were incredibly good and did amazing live. I'd definitely recommend this to any fan of the genre.
Kittie was GREAT on St. Patrick's Day! The sound was insanely loud for all five bands (too many, if you ask me), but it was a great show nonetheless. The only band I had even heard of before this concert was Kittie -- everyone else was really a waiting period. We have four bands on before Kittie; Scorned Deity was first, then Woden, then Gwen Stacey, and finally God Forbid. I wore ear plugs through all four of these sets. I loved Kittie's enthusiasm; they really believe in their music. Morgan was amazing with her vocals and she was nice enough to take a picture with me! I was on Tara's side of the stage the entire time so I got a lot of pictures of her. The performance was so amazing that I couldn't get video because I was too into it!! I love their music and live it was just exceptional. The only criticism I have is their set list -- it's entirely too short! Kittie has been around for 11 years now and Morgan and Mercedes at least know exactly how much material they have. What's the point of only being on for an hour and a half? I guess some people might get bored. If you ask me, instead of five bands on for short periods it should've been just Kittie and God Forbid for longer sets. But the show was great anyway. Kittie brought in some of their greatest hits; obviously "Cut Throat," which was one of my favorites of the night. They kept "Never Again" in the line-up too, which was awesome. They could've swapped "Sugar" for "Into the Darkness," but I like both so it wasn't a big deal. I wanted to see "Falling Down" live, but I think they swapped that for "What I Always Wanted." I also wanted to see "Mouthful of Poison," but I think that was passed over to keep in "Severed." But they kept in "Whiskey Love Song" which was phenomenal because getting rid of that one would've ruined the whole show! Overall, Kittie puts on an amazing live show! If you're a Kittie fan I highly recommend going to see one. They'll rock you harder than anyone else out there. You've been warned!
This was my first time seeing Kittie and at BB Kings, It could have been a better experience well, they could have played a little long but hey, nobody's perfect. Ladies, I thank you
I've always had great experiences with B.B. Kings blues club, and this time was no exception, this time happened to be even better. The absence of the metal barricade in front of the stage made this show unforgettable. God Forbid is one of my favorite bands, and any chance I get to see them, anywhere in or near New York, I go. God Forbid being the main band I went to see, seeing Kittie afterwards was an awesome follow up. Would do it 10 more times.
The openers were ok. Gwen Stacey were so so, all screaming, but hey, they're just an opener. God Forbid were great, except that their sound system was too loud and distorted on the high ends. Kittie were amazing, they played their hearts out. Flawless performers, loud, heavy, powerful. I don't have the bandmembers names memorized, so bear with me here. The singer did her changes from death metal growling vocals to normal vocals smoothly, and played her guitar parts awesome. The foxy lead guitarist did her solos with ease. The drummer was powerful, and her vocal parts were great. And that bassist..... i think i'm in love, lol. She played with intensity. But, here's the thing. Something I've been noticing lately with mostly-female audiences for metal acts that attract females. They seem to lack enthusiasm. The girls on stage were playing their hearts out for us, and the audience could barely react. Seemed like they lacked the energy to give the band some feedback. I can't blame Kittie for it, because they played amazingly. Perhaps the band needs better promotion, to reach the more rabid death metal fans. Maybe they need to have more popular openers that attract a mostly-male audience to bring in people that normally wouldn't dare seeing an all-female group. Something in the system ain't working right. It's not Kittie at fault. It's something to do with their promotion. Let's face it. Mostly-female audiences in the NYC area are lacking. There's got to be some way to mix things up. I'm satisfied with having seen Kittie my first time after all these years. I totally forgive them for denying the lame audience an encore. The openers were.....ok, but they're not who I came to see. I'd see Kittie again, if the openers had the same star power as them, only because I'd hate to see them with another lame audience.
only there for gwen stacy. they rocked!!!! crowd was tiny tho, count on two hands tiny....
God Forbid should have been headlining this show because they were awesome. This is the second time i have seen them at alrosa. Last time they opened for Death Angel. They were even better at this show than the last time i saw them. I actually liked that they played a lot of new songs from earth's blood this time. EMPIRE OF THE GUN rocked, as did Bat the angels out the sky and The Rain. To the Fallen hero was a good way to end the show as well. Gone forever and antihero were the best moments. I've never seen Kittie before but they are heavier than I thought they were. I love the song "Cutthroat" and the beginning of their set was deadly. Morgan, the vocalist, has a pretty damn good scream. She can also sing well, which she showed off more towards the end of the set. I was disappointed in the fact that kittie didn't play "Brackish" or "Charlotte" but im guessing its because the guitarist has changed and the girl who did the back up vocals isnt there anymore. Overall, really good show. Kittie rocked it and I would probly see them again. If you ever get a chance to see God Forbid, though, you should because they put on a hell of a show. I would love to see them open for someone like Chimaira.
My husband is a huge fan of this type of metal music. We saw them in Columbus, Ohio, on March 19 along with 5 other bands [including God Forbid]. We thought the whole show rocked-Kittie and God Forbid both were awesome and kept playing throughout their whole set. Unfortunately, the venue did not even have the bands up on the marqee that were playing that night.
The ladies in Kittie just keep getting better. This newest lineup has been together awhile and it really works. I hope Ivy and Tara stay around a long while to work with the fabulous Lander sisters. Ivy may have some room to grow playing-wise but she looks like a young Cliff Burton up there if he was born a good looking tomboy! The material from the new album is awesome live or recorded. They are friendly with the crowd and really tear it up Canadian Metal style! God Forbid brought a special intensity to their set. I had never seen them live but I am looking forward to experiencing them again sometime.
Great show last night by both Kittie and God Forbid. God Forbid always gets the crowd pumpin, and Kittie was cool cuz they brought out a lot of scantily clad sluts into the audience. What a night!
Kittie rocked northern lights...AGAIN!!! thnkx to M.M.T.I. !! good luck on US tour... hope to see ya again real soon... the vikin horn is callin us......LMAO
