About

Kings of Leon mark their return to the North American arena circuit for the first time in more than two years with their 2014 Mechanical Bull Tour, featuring the added bonus of up-and-coming blues whiz Gary Clark, Jr. in the opening slot. The trek is named for the southern rockers' new album, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart after its release in September 2013.

A family affair, Kings of Leon is frontman Caleb Followill, his older brother Nathan on drums, little brother Jared on bass, and their first cousin Michael Followill on guitar. The band formed after Michael and Jared moved to Nashville around the turn of the century, and by 2002 the record labels were taking notice of the two older siblings. While their eventual label RCA Records wanted to recruit other musicians to play with Caleb and Nathan, the brothers insisted that Michael and Jared round out their band.

The band emerged with their first EP, Holy Roller Novocaine, and album, Youth & Young Manhood, in 2003, and both were noted for their retro, psychedelic take on raw southern rock. The band had a retro look to match, and European audiences were fast to adopt the scruffy, long-haired group. By the time the band's second album, 2004's Aha Shake Heartbreak, was released overseas, the band were a bona fide sensation in Europe. The album's sound  was also a breakthrough in the US, where it hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

With the release of Kings of Leon's fourth album, 2008's Only By the Night, the Followills solidified their standing as stars in their home country. The album went Platinum in the US and featured their biggest hit, "Sex on Fire."

The foursome stayed busy in 2013 selling many tickets to an extensive overseas tour, releasing a new album, and appearing at North American festivals.

    Amazing show!

by Jodi C on 11/3/21Dos Equis Pavilion - Dallas

First time at this particular venue, Kings were amazing as always!! The temperature was really hot inside the venue, so it would have been nice if they allowed vendors to sell water in or around the pit area. I've been to other venues where security was nice enough to hand out water to the audience members who were in pit so that there were no instances of overheating. This happened to a couple of people at this show.

    Incredible!!

Kings always put together a seamless experience during live shows!! My favorite venue in Houston! Barrier is so close to stage and stage is low to ground. Can't wait to see them here again next time they come around!

Seats were amazing! The vibe and the cleanliness were great! Only thing i would change is to try and space out the seats on the ground floor bc they are too close

    Great show

by Yoz on 9/27/21The Forum - Inglewood

Even with one band member missing, the backups made up for it just fine. The band never skipped a beat. The Cold War Boys opened for KoL and were awesome. Id never heard of them before, but now have them in my Spotify. This was a great show.

Kings of Leon at The Forum

by AcaMags on 9/24/21The Forum - Inglewood

Recently attended a Kings of Leon at The Forum. The entire process entering the event went seamlessly even with covid protocols. Staff was helpful and kept guests ready and organized. I have seen Kings of Leon before and they did not disappoint. They were phenomenal and played a pretty long set list. I found out after the show that the band received devastating news before going on stage. I commend the band for continuing with the show and doing as good of a job as they did. Their commitment to their fans is amazing. Thank you and I’m sorry.

    Brilliant

by Renée P. on 9/24/21The Forum - Inglewood

I'm not sure if I'm rating the venue or KOL. My heart goes out to the members of KOL. I hope it's not inappropriate to say you performed another epic show. Your fans are there for you because you are always on top for us. The Forum experience was flawless. I was amazed how smooth the process was to enter the event. Wonderful staff.

    Great Concert

by NV Fans on 9/24/21The Forum - Inglewood

Phenomenal performance, great seats, superb sound quality. This was our 1st time at this venue, but not our 1st KOL concert. They did not disappoint! The only downside to the evening was the $45 parking charge & unorganized exit process. There was adequate organization at the exit, but not within the lot. Could not even move for 40 minutes. However, we will hopefully still attend other concerts at this venue.

The music was great and the venue was great...

by OllieBaba on 9/24/21The Forum - Inglewood

The only downside is the parking. Doesn't seem to be handled very well. Took forever to park when it should only take 5-10 min, it took 25-30 min.

    Awesome Show

    by eyesofabluesky on 9/24/21

Good show even though they were minus one member. The energy was different from the last time I see them Oct. 2014. Happy I got to see it 🙂 It doesn't hurt that they are easy on the eyes 😍

Beware Forum JAMMING you with $45 parking!!

    by M. S. on 9/24/21

Kings of Leon were amazing - as always! I am not going to ding the 5-star rating lower because KOL was stellar. I just want people to realize that the Forum raised their prices for parking a couple of years ago from $25 to $30, but just now with reopening after Covid, they are JAMMING concert goers by charging $45 for general parking!! This is OBSCENE! Truly a money grab from concert goers arriving with no other options. NO WHERE in its media or website is the Forum upfront with the fact they raised the parking to $45 and most people will get there and not have any other option than to pay. Please spread the word to other concert goers, and to the artists out there contemplating playing the Forum...PLEASE skip this venue...play somewhere else!

    Ok

    by S on 9/24/21The Forum - Inglewood

Had a hard time accessing my tickets when we arrived due to internet issues. We missed half the show trying to connect to internet. We asked what other options we had and they basically told us “no other options.” Yes, could have been a little more prepared but, it slipped my mind this time. Also, they basically allow no bags in. I had a small bag and made us walk around the entire building to put in lockers. I wasn’t aware no bags were allowed in. We ibered to the venue so there was no other option for us than to spend MORE money.
