Kingfishr, have quickly established themselves as one of the rising prospects in Irish music. Part of the newest generation of Irish contemporaries, the band’s grand, atmospheric tone married with their propensity for catchy melodies has resonated with a wide audience. Aptly named for the bird which frequents the river Boro in Eddie, the lead singer's, native county of Wexford, the 3-piece pride themselves on their musical independence, producing, writing and recording and all of their own music at their home studio, which happens to be located on a dairy farm in Limerick, Ireland.
In 3 short years, they have racked up over 70+ million streams to date, have 800k+ monthly listeners on Spotify, were included in Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE: Class of 2023 and have been Spotify RADAR: First Listen UK & IE Artists.
Their live album, Kingfishr Live From Dublin, reached #5 on the Irish Charts, as well as #7 on the UK Folk Albums Chart. They have sold 50,000 tickets across the UK and Ireland, including 2 sold out headline tours that included 2 dates at Dublin's 3Olympia Theater, and 1 at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, in addition to a host of supports with major artists including Dermot Kennedy, Tom Walker, George Ezra, James Bay, Snow Patrol and Bruce Springsteen. Festival have plays include Latitude, Electric Picnic, All Points East (2023), TRSNMT, Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds (2024), with more to come in 2025 including the recently announced Mad Cool (Madrid), Frequency (Austria) and a return to Latitude.
This is not a criticism of the band in any form but of the venue. The band is phenomenal and the show was great. However, the staff at the venue did not check on whether people were in the balcony or the general admission space. So there were more people on the floor than should have been and towards the end of the night, the floor was tightly packed which is a safety issue.
Their performance was incredibly well done, full of energy, and so fun to be a part of! It was clear that they were having a great time, and the songs were even better in person!

Fantastic concert, they give their all, great voices, fantastic, intelligent lyrics - they will skyrocket ( but hopefully not loose their roots) - great crowd and very friendly and helpful staff in a wonderful venue - all around Excellent
so cool to see this band which is rising rapidly. Music reminds me of Mumford and Sons, Lumineers. Front man has great stage presence...invoking Chris Martin energy. I remember when I first saw U2 in a small club in the 80s. Similar feel here...KimgfishR is about to explode!!
Im a big fan of music in general. This was my first time seeing Kingfishr live. They were great. Im already looking forward to seeing them again.
