After making her Saturday Night Live and BRIT Awards debuts performing "Unholy" with Sam, Kim was honored with the Billboard Women In Music Chartbreaker Award after receiving the Variety Hitmakers Innovator of the Year Award alongside Sam.

After years of triumphing as an entirely independent artist, Kim signed to Republic Records / Amigo Records and began a brand-new era which included her sex-positive EP Slut Pop. After breaking out with her 2017 single "I Don't Want It At All" (a #1 hit on Spotify's Global Viral 50 Chart), "Heart to Break" became her first Top 40 smash.
