KIDZ BOP Kids on Tour

There is no stopping the 21st century's most massive musical empire: KIDZ BOP. Since first being introduced in 2001, the self-proclaimed "No. 1 music brand for kids" has transformed pop music's greatest hits — even the most explicit of chart-toppers — into kid-friendly versions. It's proven to be a huge success, with multiple albums reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Kids charts nearly every year. Naturally, the KIDZ BOP franchise eventually grew beyond just recording albums to becoming a live performance force to be reckoned with.

After a nationwide talent search, the inaugural KIDZ BOP tour kicked off in 2007 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and hit up venues across the U.S. for more than six months. But it wasn't until seven years later that the brand took touring to a whole new level.

In 2014, the Dream Big, Sing Loud tour landed in more than 40 cities around the nation with the cast singing current hits by artists like Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, and Katy Perry. This led to similar new tours each year, including 2015's Make Some Noise tour, 2016's Life of the Party tour, and 2017's Best Time Ever tour.

Also in 2017, KIDZ BOP expanded beyond the U.S., forming a cast of British KIDZ BOP Kids exclusively for the U.K. audience. But they also remained a hot ticket in the States, launching the KIDZ BOP Live 2018 Tour, followed by the KIDZ BOP World Tour in 2019.

Of course, each year features new performers, new songs, and new choreography. During these tours, the Kids perform more than 50 live shows each year. The seven-kid cast is chosen through a nationwide casting call that picks young talents to sing on the KIDZ BOP albums, star in their music videos, and travel North America as part of the KIDZ BOP Kids live tours. These kids are all multi-talent threats (some even have Broadway credits already to their name) and may just be future pop stars themselves.

    Show good but event mismanaged

by RegularPatrona on 9/10/13Heymann Performing Arts Center - Lafayette

We disagree with some previous reviews about the lip synching; these kids (sorry, "kidz") are obviously very talented. It was apparent that the kids were miked live, and their voices were way better than average. Further, they were all very talented dancers. And the biggest surprise, to me, was that it appeared to both me and my son that the performers were the actual "kidz bop kidz" from the tv commercials. (I had cynically assumed that they would be regionally sourced talent.) But anyhoo, the concert was too cute, and the kids in the audience were so hyped up and excited and absolutely thrilled, but the event as a whole seemed poorly managed (as most events at the Heymann seem). The merch tables were the absolute centerpiece of all routing and activites, which is just cheesy. Further, throughout the concert, the kidz bop kidz talked about a "meet and greet" at the end of the concert---but the venue had not advertised or otherwise alerted ticketholders about this meet and greet ahead of time, so my son and I had no idea how to go about this. Neither did others apparently: various lines formed in various places, and the one line that actually mattered formed in defiance of those other lines and grew and grew and grew... about 20 minutes later a red-coat (Heymann usher) briskly informed everyone that this one line was the only one... As we can testify about most events at the Heymann, even after you get into the event, the lines are long, the layout is confusing, and the ushers are grouchy and largely unhelpful. And the concessions seem to be outsourced or contracted, which means they're clueless about the event. But back to kidz bop live, my son had a total blast during the concert, and I found it not too unpleasant at all, and the heartache was caused only by mismanagement (is "unmanagement" a word?) by the staff of the venue. It's always an adventure at the Heymann. Good or bad.

    TERRIBLE

by Angela72 on 9/10/13Heymann Performing Arts Center - Lafayette

WORST THING I'VE EVER SEEN!!!! Our local elementary schools do a better production! WOW ... the audio was terrible, the "kids" sang over a track, props were on a table ... like a BAD BAD BAD "B" movie :( Kids only got into it when they would tell them to SCREAM ...which they did more than they sang

It was my daughter and I that went. She's 10 and she was ready to leave about 20 - 30 mins into the concert. Wasn't good at all. We actually left at intermission

Overall, the concert was GREAT for young kids and their parents. I wish there was less of the Kidz Bop kids singing along with the music in the background OR if the microphones were louder. I would definitely recommend this concert to parents of young children because they get to enjoy modern music without the inappropriate lyrics. :)

Perfect for kids 8 years old and under!

by ACrochet on 9/9/13Heymann Performing Arts Center - Lafayette

I brought my 12 year old niece and a friend of hers, and they were probably the oldest kids there. I didn't do my research well enough. Although they sing current songs, they tend to bring in an audience of younger kids.

    Kidz Bop Kids Live Concert

by Frandi on 9/9/13Rye Playland & Encore iPlay America - New Jersey

This is an awesome show - I've seen it twice because my daughter wanted to go back. These kids are incredibly talented. Some people here have said that the show is lip-synced & I can tell you that is NOT true. They are singing over track music. The soundsystem stopped for a minute during one of the shows and the five kids were all singing full-out amazing, they didn't miss a single beat & their voices and harmony's were incredible! Visually fun, lots of high energy dancing and crowd interaction. To be honest, I did wish the show was a little longer, but all in all, it was great fun. If the show comes back to NJ we will definitely see it again. I highly recommend the show!

    be pop

by mguess on 8/13/13Rye Playland - Rye

Spent more money on theses tickets , I felt than what it was worth. Seating was good except kids and security standing in the way from seeing the performance. Staff consistently asking guest is anyone sitting at the empty seats Tthe seats were empty due to kids standing in front of the performers. Doesn't staff know what seats are available or not.? Plus I did not know you can sit on the grass and watch for free. I think lip singing and performing the way the kids did were okay but the tickets I had were over priced. Overall did not get my moneys worth . The kids performed good.

    Kidz Bop was a rip-off!

by nicke1 on 8/7/13House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

Overpriced for a 45 minute show of kids lip-syncing and/or singing over their cd. The only thing that was ok was the dancing...

    So-so

by NHattaway on 8/7/13House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

The venue was awesome. Staff was very accommodating to the hundreds of parents and littles, explaining politely about the no kids-on-shoulders rule. I was given an alcohol wrist band, however many parents were NOT and seemed disgruntled when the bartender wouldn't serve them based on their ID. The concert itself? Subpar. Even my daughter said "next time I go to a concert, I don't want them to be yelling" It was a lot of jumping around, chaotic and frantic dancing, very little crowd participation AND only lasted 45 minutes! The background music way overshadowed the performers' voices ... One hour of waiting in line. 30 minutes waiting for the show to start ... and then 45 minutes of entertainment? Disappointing.

    Very disappointed

by Cmberd on 8/6/13House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

I was very excited for this concert, as it was the first concert for my 7-yr old daughter. We took one of her friends along with us and it was her first concert also. The show started a few minutes late (4:10 compared to 4:00), which is normally not a big deal. However, the concert was over by 5:08! The one hour was inclusive of about 5 songs from an opening act. It also seemed like almost all of the songs were lip-synced (other than the opening act). Even my daughter made a comment to me during the show that none of them were really singing. Overall, it was a very disappointing show.
