Covered from head to toe in tattoos, 24 year-old Los Angeles-based rapper Kid Ink is wrecking havoc on the streets and in cyber world. The Rapper/Producer/Songwriter/ Tattoo Aficionado has over 25 Million hits on YouTube with lyrical gems like, "Tat It Up" "La La La," and "Keep It Rollin'."
Having spent the majority of the early part of his career behind the control board and not the mic, Kid Ink crafting his production skills working with multi-platinum artists like Sean "Diddy" Combs and Sean Kingston as well Yung Berg and Nipsey Hussle. Production came natural for Kid Ink, "I started making the beats because I already had several artists trying the rap thing out, so I thought I would be more useful supplying the production." But sitting behind the board was not enough for Kid Ink.
Just a few short years ago, Kid Ink picked up the mic and a new contender in the Hip-Hop game was born. Honing his skills as a songwriter creating hooks for his beats, Kid Ink stepped up his lyrical repertoire with full length and completed songs.
2010 was a breakout year in the young rapper's career.
Teaming up with world-renowned DJ ill Will and DJ Rockstar's newly formed Tha Alumni Music Group; Kid Ink became more focused in his grind and began working on the underground hit, Crash Landing Mixtape. His hard work paid off and the music industry began to take notice. Within 10 days of its release, Crash Landing garnered critical acclaim, a position at the top of Datpiff.com's 'Top Mixtapes of the Week' section and amassed an astonishing 50 thousand downloads.
After Crash Landings' debut, national and international request to perform rolled in. Kid Ink has toured the states with stops in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Denver, Kansas City and Buffalo; and internationally in Toronto, Canada, Zurich, Switzerland, Melbourne, Australia and Krasnador, Russia.
Solidifying himself as a real MC, Kid Ink garnered career-defining features from Hip-Hop and R&B stars including Young Money's Gudda Gudda, Roscoe Dash, Sterling Simms, Bei Maejor, Meek Mill and many more. Kid Ink's uncompromising work ethic would not allow him to rest on his more than impressive laurels; there needed to be a 'visual' movement to showcase his innovative style and unique persona.
Lensed by Director Alex Nazari, Kid Ink released an astounding 8 cutting-edge music videos in 2010 alone. Tearing the Net to shreds, to date his now 19 released videos have garnered a very impressive 25 plus million views.
2011 continued to be phenomenal for the young MC. Having released his (free to the public) sophomore album Daydreamer on June 21st via the internet, the lyrical juggernaut accumulated over 150 thousand downloads in its first week.
Fans went ballistic over the album that featured all original production from the likes of The Runners, Lex Luger, Jahlil Beats, Cardiak & Tha Bizness as well as major features from the Cory Gunz, Meek Mill, Ray J, Sean Kingston, Dorrough, Bei Maejor and more.
Bucking the norm of waiting for a major label deal to kick off his career, the rapper has taken his fate in to his own hands and crafted an internet campaign that rivals many of the acts resting high on the Billboard charts. With videos under his belt including Internet sensations "Lowkey Poppin," "Please" and "Cali Dreamin,'" Kid Ink is definitely rockin' to his own beat.
Kid Ink continued his 2011 tear by releasing "Wheels Up," yet another all original Mixtape on October 10th to an overwhelming response. Once again outdoing the numbers his previous project accumulated. Following the release of "Wheels Up," Ink has been on a mini "Wheels Up" tour including stops in the Bay Area, Denmark, New York, Boston, Toronto, Denver & Chicago to name a few, performing to packed crowds of 600-2,000.
His Internet game is just as tight as his rap game. His website, www.kidinkmusic.com gets between 90,000 and 150,000 hits a month, his Facebook page has over a 200,000 Likes, his Twitter game is continually growing with 110k plus Followers and via HotNewHipHop.com Kid Ink has a staggering 8 million + digital downloads.
Even the fashion community has also taken notice of the Hip-Hop star. Ink has Brand Relations with companies ranging from Crooks N Castles, Young & Reckless, Dope Couture, LRG, Adidas, DGK, Neff, Pink Dolphin and most recently Puma, clothing him for his many video and photo shoots.
He needs to come to Brooklyn he is just a great rapper I respect an love him he going to take it to the next leve
I had the time of my life I got to meet him and he is so humble and kind
Opening acts sucked -_- but Kid Ink was awesome. We had a really good spot in the crowd and got great pics from the concert.
Lip singing practically the whole show. My daughter wanted to see this, so I brought her. Standing room only I will never do again.
Although the venue wasn't packed, he had the crowd live in Miami!
I had a good time. Plus Kid Ink was really good with his fans. I got my phone case signed at the end of the show. Would go again
Many don't know him yet but I love kid ink. His concerts are always great and he is so humble and makes the whole crowd feel special!
Well to start off with he had a meet n greet earlier in d day which I was happy about I got to meet him he is so down to earth..the concert was amazing from beginning till end...loved everything about it.
Simply amazing. Kid Ink is a dope ass performer. And at the end he signed my Brooklyn Nets SnapBack and did a few giveaways to the crowd. He loves his fans
Me and a couple of friends got there early! We went in with barely any line and were really close to kid ink. Before he showed up, there were many other artists in which we enjoyed to get us pumped up for kid ink. Overall, the place was not as big as expected but what can you expect? It's a club not an arena. However, besides this I enjoyed it very much and the music was loud with good bass. Would recommend visiting grand central for any concert!
That was my second time seeing Kid Ink at the Old National Centre and it won't be the last!
Such loud music and having kid ink be one of my favorite artist, it was an experience I would never forget. CRAZY #MyOwnLaneTour
i arrived early so i could be as close to the stage as possible. Thank God i was close to the stage pretty much 2nd row. I could see everything. Even with the sound technical difficulties it was still an overall great experience. He was very interactive with the audience, i got to touch his hand a few times. He signed peoples hats and phones and things at the end of his performance.
Great performer, got the crowd going, interacted with the crowd. Would see again for sure
Definitely the best concert I've been to! The venue isn't big, but thats what made it cool because it was jam packed with everyone turnt up! Kid Ink rolled up in mid concert, and passed that blunt around! Other people passed him their blunts, he gave a great show! Was very engaged with the audience, especially because this is his hometown! He sang all of My Own Lane songs, and performed other old songs! Definitely a night to remember! Show was scheduled for 7pm, he got on stage a little pass 8, for about 2 hours and a half. He's a great performer hand's down!! WILL Never miss another kid ink concert in LA!!!
Amazing experience! Love it. I would go see him again.
This was my first time seeing Kid Ink in concert, and I would highly recommend anyone to go see him. I enjoyed the concert, although he was only stage for about an hour and half, but he performed all my favorite songs so I was HAPPY!!! He kept the crowd hype from the moment he came on stage until he left. He is a great rapper.
ITS WAS GREAT Sound system was BANGING. It took a while for the main attraction to get on stage. But when is that NOT the case. I was not disappointed with performance. The house of blues is great way To see the performer up close and personal compared to a stadium type concert.
overall kid ink killed the show he played all his new music from his album..Then he brought out YG which made every on get more turnt up. i would tell everyone to go watch him good shit kid ink!
It was preeety sick. I was in the standing pit wich was pretty awsome. There werent alot of people witch was weird. Show ended pretty early :\ but it was still a sick show
