KEVIN GATES IN CONCERT:
New Orleans-bred rapper and freestyle king Kevin Gates is quickly making himself known within the hip-hop community since breaking onto the scene with 2007's smashing mixtape Pick Of Da Litter. Combining his raspy flows with soulful crooning on heavy hitters like "Satellites" and "Arm & Hammer", Gates has a finesse that keeps fans coming back for more. Back on tour, Gates and his hype men will have ticket buyers getting down all night at his upcoming shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Kevin Gates, born Kevin Gilyard, grew up on the streets of Louisiana finding solace in music by penning lyrics at a young age. After spending years honing his craft, Gates released his debut mixtape Pick Of Da Litter in 2007. Although it wasn't an initial hit, the album sparked several more releases and attracted attention from big-time artists like Lil' Wayne. The up-and-coming rapper has been on the rise ever since, collaborating with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J on his 2013 mixtape Stranger Than Fiction and having music featured on Rolling Stone's 100 Best Songs of 2013 list. With his 2014 album By Any Means and an upcoming tour in the works, Gates will have eager ticket buyers shakin' it to his hot rap jams.
It was well worth it! He really worked the crowd!I would definitely recommend! The only problem was the building was full of smoke! So if you can stand any kind of smoke then you should not go there!
The wait was very well worth it. When Kevin got on the stage he had the crowd turnt! The tickets were only $25 and I was able to be in the front. I even got a chance to shake his hand!! He performed for about a hour and a half. I mean it was worth every penny. Glad I didn't get VIP because those people were on the balcony and for just $25 I got to be up close even though my feet were killing me because we didn't have seats. So next time I will just get regular tickets again. The only difference is we have to stand up and vip get to sit on the balcony.
I really enjoyed myself. Gates was so humble & real life genuine! You can tell he appreciates all his fans; & he was sexy too! Lovedddd it!
Kevin Gates was absolutely amazing! I would totally go back to see him again in the future and it was well worth the money to go see him! He sounds great in person and he's so fun to watch! He performed for at least an hour and 30 minutes, which I'm not complaining about cause I had fun the whole time he was up there! The only thing I would say I didn't like was how slow the concert moved before he went up there. They played tropical music for about 2 hours after we got there and someone finally came out but after that performance was done, we waited another hour, I think they should've had a DJ up there while we were waiting cause they did do that after the second guy came out but then they randomly stopped and went back to the tropical music. But other than the waiting, great concert! If your thinking about going, GO!! It's totally worth it!
The best Kevin Gates concert I have ever been to! I have been to 3 other ones besides this one and this was definitely the best one. we waited in line for forever but that's what you get when you want front row! we stood outside for about 2 hours & we're pretty far back in line and still got 2 rows from the front. there was only 1 preformer before BWA came on which was FANTASTIC. when I went to the concert in Cleveland there was about 20 local preformers before him which was fine but it was too much and he didn't come on until 11:29 at Cleveland but at this show he came out at 10 played for over an hour came into the crowd touched MY HAND and held it. it was the best concert I have EVER been to.
Standing for a total of 2hours doing nothing. in between young greatness and boobie black I waited in the pit for an hour and a half listening to nothing then finally boobie black came on and said YO KEVIN GATES IS ABOUT TO COME OUT. So we all get excited then we waited another 30-45 minutes listening to nothing standing in a hot group of people. In the mean time 2 people near me passed out and everyone was complaining then finally gates came out and by the time everyone around me was so hot and dehydrated and tired of standing people slowly started leaving. This was the most unorganized concert I've ever attended!
I'll start out by saying it was sold out so of course it was packed and the venue was small. But kevin did his thing!! He played all the favorites and even some of his new songs!! In between each song he talked and kept it real with everyone. Can't wait to see him again!
We get there at 6pm waited for 4 hours and let me tell you it was so worth it. He sounds so good live and he talk real live things inbetween songs. Thats a real experience. It was my first concert and let me tell you I'm BWA for life after that!
Kevin Gates as a rapper and inspiration is amazing. The music is great, the energy not so much. He just bounced his head and walked around. It wasn't the best concert as far as energy and fun goes but if you wanna chill and listen to gates then it's for you. Not for the turnup crowd.
I purchased meet and greet for this show because Kevin is just amazing.After the meet and greet the show started with the opener at 8 but it was 2 more hours before Kevin hit the stage..the venue sold out of water..they also had no wait staff coming to the front row for any orders..other then an issue with the venue or Kevin's last appearance it was an awesome show! Kevin doesn't disappoint, his stage presence is like no other! Catch him in a city near you..

I really like the concert and I personally feel like Kevin Gates has a message for the people.
The energy this man gives off is amazing!!! I would suggest going to his shows even if you don't like rap. Lists to his words. Listen to his heart!He is unlike any other in more ways than one!
Kevin Gates was amazing and did a very good job ! I just wish it was longer but he has others shows to do so I understand. Young Greatness & OG BOBBIE BLACK did a good job as well. So the overall show was on point. Wish I had them VIP tickets lol and wish I was on the first floor to hug him when he got on the crowd but GREAT JOB KEVIN - much respect.
Kevin Gates killed it. The opening acts were terrible though. The venue was pretty bad too. The only redeeming thing about the venue was how close we could get to the stage since it was a small place.
This was my second time seeing Kevin Gates and I just knew he would put on a good show. However, it was simply okay. And he didn't even stay on until the time he was supposed to stay on. He ended the show kind of abruptly. I expected way better from him.
I'm biased. I love Brasi. Gates. Kevin. Whatever you wanna call 'em. I love him. I'm a super fan----I love him and Dreka. I don't know these people but I love what I see of their relationship via IG sooooo yea I'm biased. With that stated, I think the show was great. He was lively, there was some fan interaction (esp at the end), he did all the jams I wanted (except "Tomorrow"), the opening acts (Geaux Yella [check him out BTW] and them) didn't take HELLA long and I appreciate that. I've been to a number of shows where the opening acts don't come on stage until like 45mins after the show's start time and then there's like 6 different acts (I'm talking about you BTNH). Brasi had about 3 openers and the show was slated to start at 8, openers were on stage by 8:05, Brasi hit the stage a little after 9 maybe? I was outta there by about 10:30-10:45 which was great because it was a Sunday night sooooo ya know responsibility and ish. ALSO: Did not know that there's an upstairs "VIP" area at the Fillmore...OMG so glad I sat up there for this show. As much as I love Gates and as trill as my heart is...I'm too old to get put out of venues for fighting in GA. Upgrade if you're over 27 and at a "trap rap" or "ratchet" concert....
Brasi did his thing just like I expected... the sound system in the Fillmore was on Point had the whole place Vibrating the floor was thumpin
I think the kevin gates concert was the best one I've ever been too my best friend my boyfriend and his dad went we had the greatest time ever my best friend and I was jumping around screaming and singing Kevin gates is definitely my favorite I love his music so much all of it. Great job kev.
it was terrible, we paid over $100 for VIP tickets, they werent honored, we stood up in the back sweating in a venue with no AC, Kevin didn't come out until 2am, did about 6 songs and just walked off stage, no closing or anything, it was horrible.
