New Orleans-bred rapper and freestyle king Kevin Gates is quickly making himself known within the hip-hop community since breaking onto the scene with 2007's smashing mixtape Pick Of Da Litter. Combining his raspy flows with soulful crooning on heavy hitters like "Satellites" and "Arm & Hammer", Gates has a finesse that keeps fans coming back for more. Back on tour, Gates and his hype men will have ticket buyers getting down all night at his upcoming shows.

Kevin Gates, born Kevin Gilyard, grew up on the streets of Louisiana finding solace in music by penning lyrics at a young age. After spending years honing his craft, Gates released his debut mixtape Pick Of Da Litter in 2007. Although it wasn't an initial hit, the album sparked several more releases and attracted attention from big-time artists like Lil' Wayne. The up-and-coming rapper has been on the rise ever since, collaborating with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J on his 2013 mixtape Stranger Than Fiction and having music featured on Rolling Stone's 100 Best Songs of 2013 list. With his 2014 album By Any Means and an upcoming tour in the works, Gates will have eager ticket buyers shakin' it to his hot rap jams.

I would definitely see him again but not at the same venue or with the same people. I couldn't really enjoy the show due to security being overbearing and trying not to slap random females. It was my 3rd time seeing him in less than a year, so my expectations are kind of high.

BUT he was 3 hours late to perform! I felt that to be very unprofessional but that's expected ! Other wise I had a great time

The artist did great and made the wait fairly worth it, however we paid full price to see a 30 minute show. I did not like this fact. The DJ's were fun and interacted with the crowd so that was a plus.

by 30106 on 8/28/14Masquerade - AtlantaAt first when he was whispering a verse I've the heavy bass I wasn't impressed. But when he slapped the Mic stand out of the way we were both turnt up. Best performer ever. Really worked the crowd. The meet and greet was great. He is real and down to earth. We talked about fishing lol. Overall we wanna go to every concert he has. And w h an he jumped in the crowd we all went crazy. Highly recommend.

by Moezee on 8/27/14Masquerade - AtlantaKevin was late, we listened to music for at least an hour. He didnt' perform whole songs. I was disappointed. In the beginning he wasn't in a good mood because of something previously so he completely came off like he was 100% messed up then he perked up.

by Anonymous on 8/11/14River Center - DavenportMy thought on the concert was that it was the worse one I have been to I have been to better country concerts then his show I love his music but his performance wasn't worth me sitting there listening to songs most of the time from other artists I would of perfered to of had my money back and just went to the bars instead and listened to music from the radio then there decision to split people up like that at the concert was the stupidest thing I have ever seen or heard of so my final thought of this Concert was I hated it and would never go to one of his again not worth my hard earned money

Event said it was suppose to start at 7, but KG didn't come out to perform til 10:30. I was ready to leave by 9. The crowd was small too, I'm assuming they were trying to get there sales ticket up before he performed. Smh. Overall performance was alright. He didn't even perform for an hour though...
