    Kpop goodness

it was simply amazing to see your idols perform for the first time. Even though it was not a VIP seat, it was still awesome.

Concert = great, overall of convention = poor

by VIP001 on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

Organization was just poor. On the first day, I arrived at the venue at around 9:30 and was stuck in line til 1:30 before it was my turn to go into the convention...and I had a VIP1 ticket! Most of the managers don't know what's going on so we weren't even able to enjoy the convention all that much. Everything was so disorganized and that's pretty much the only thing I remember from KCON. Of course the concert was great because it was managed by Mnet. The artists were great and I had a great time at the concert.

    Ticket worth the Concert

by XaraSays on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

I wasn't able to make it to L.A. until the day of the show so I only spent half of a day checking out the convention but from what I saw I didn't feel like I missed much except for my artist engagement (Teen Top). Which they hand out by having you randomly pick a card upon arriving to the event. The convention fell flat. My impression of the convention was that it was chaotic--lacking in organization, and intention. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the layout of the event. It wasn't so difficult to orient where you were via the map as it was to figure out what was going on. Add on a few panels that just weren't interesting and disappointed I ended up leaving the convention early returning an hour before the show. The show itself was amazing and definitely worth the ticket. All the artist were incredible and it was unbelievable to see them all in one night! The M.C.ing was a bit awkward at times and felt out of place but the acts were so incredible no one noticed. Originally I bought my ticket because I couldn't pass up a chance to see Teen Top (in their first U.S. concert) and G-Dragon but in the end it was EXO and G-Dragon who stole my heart. All the performances were flawless but EXO and G.D. brought a little something extra in their personalities. Fun, mischievous, swag. They seemed to be enjoying themselves and really interacted with the crowd. Every act brought their A game but in my opinion EXO, G-Dragon, Missy Elliot, Dynamic Duo, and Henry swept the show. I would go again in a heartbeat! If the convention could start living up to the caliber of the concert this event would be unstoppable.

I really liked the concert though the seating was not what I would have wanted. I had a standing ticket and though it had seat numbers it was still just first come first serve. So no point in buying a ticket early. It was hard to see, and so for my sisters they couldn't enjoy the show cause they couldn't even see the performance. I had a camera so that was the only reason why I could see.

Amazing concert, not so amazing organization.

by Anonymous on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

The two day adventure in downtown LA with two of my friends was definitely unforgettable. I had a regular seat in the upper section, two of my friends had VIP GA tickets. When checking in, there was a voucher system for various interactions with the music performers. There were audience tickets for the Q&A, a Hi Touch voucher for a hi five with an artist, and a signing voucher. These were dispersed at random when checking into the convention with some vouchers giving an artist engagement, others giving nothing but a "sorry :(" message. When I opened my voucher, I got nothing. My friends both had three vouchers (their ticket offered more than mine) and each got one artist engagement with the artist they liked the least. We waited in line for three hours before the convention to get a voucher for the best band, assuming that these vouchers would be dispersed for the fans that waited the longest. That wasn't the case. It was random and so many people were upset. There was a lot of trading and shady deals to get the voucher you wanted. The staff and volunteers for the event were not up to speed with the whole process of the artist engagements and weren't informative about when people were allowed to start lining up for each event. It was very chaotic the second day because of the lack of direction. Hopefully next year there will be more information given about the artist engagement processes and a better way to distribute the vouchers. Overall the concert was wonderful, but a change of venue would be appreciated. It was all outside and it was hot. The Sports Arena was old and dated. But the fans loved the concert! I would definitely go back again!!

The Artist lineup was great this year! Definitely loved the fact that they had special guest stars during the 2 day convention on the stage. Would be easier parking/traffic wise if they had some kind of shuttle transportation the way other events usually do! Would also be more beneficial if they made it more than just a luck of cards to get into artist engagement sessions.

    WAY BETTER THAN LAST YEAR

by junghoseoks on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

Unlike last year, Kcon was so amazing this year! The only bad things I have to say would be that general admission buyers don't have many chances to do something fun besides the booths. Even though I was a general admission buyer, I was lucky enough to score a f(x) viewing pass and a red carpet pass thanks to other people at Kcon lol. Oh, also the communication between staff members needs to improve. While waiting for the red carpet for hours, we were told that there was supposedly a group of people that were waiting with a staff member (making it official), even though when I asked where to wait before, they replied with "Just come back at 4:30-4:45". Other staff members said that our line was first before, but then they say that we weren't even though THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER GROUP OF PEOPLE. But back to good part, I was so glad that they allowed everyone to meet 유승우 (Yoo Seung Woo/Yu Seung Woo) and also see him talk at the panel with Heejun. He was the sweetest person on Earth and I hope Kcon brings him back. This year was way more organized and fun compared to the hot mess that was Kcon '12. Also, the concert was jamming! I wish Yoo Seung Woo had a longer performance because he really only performed one of his songs + a duet medley with Heejun and that's it. I felt bad that Crayon Pop also only performed two songs. I had a lot of fun this year, and I hope Kcon makes more improvements to create the ultimate experience :)

More Cons then Pros at KCON

by goodphoyou on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

Event definitely has room for improvement. Firstly, way too little interaction with the artists. The only person I got to see was Henry talk on the stage, which was great, but the little card/voucher system to see the artists was really stupid. Also, during the concert, way too few songs per artist, and f(x) and Exo were definitely not singing live. However, G-Dragon was really good, never really listened to him before but I'm definately a fan now. The booths for getting ramen and movie tickets were pretty cool as well.

Concert great, but skip the rest

by KKfromTexas on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

The concert was great, but it took 2 1/2 hours of standing in line in the full sun to get my entrance badge for Kcon on Saturday morning. I was VIP 2 and that line was slower than general admission. Food trucks were expensive and required buying food vouchers. Oh no, not another line.

Considering that KCON is only in it's 2nd year, the convention was well done. I very much enjoyed the panels on songwriters and choreographers in KPOP. They offered a great opportunity to ask questions and meet the people behind-the-scenes of our favorite artists. The drawback was that the artist engagement passes were not well-mixed, so that several people at a time did not get any sort of engagement from the 3 scratches allocated to each VIP or 1 scratcher given to each general ticket holder. Several people in one chunk of the line received 2AM engagement, while others had nothing. I really enjoyed the Dance-All-Day tent and the workshops. However, there should have been free water stations and more snack tickets. The food was quite expensive. The concert was simply life-changing. The graphics were beautiful and I think there were about 11 acts. The concert was 2:30 hours so it made sense that each group only could perform about 3 songs. Transitions were extremely smooth and the sound was right.

Overall it was an amazing experience and I would love to go again, but please next time have some better selling methods for the bands who are actually going and a better way of giving out autographs and whatnot. Maybe a separate paying system for just signings and other events

    KCON Rocked

by sommertales on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

KCON was just as amazing as I'd hoped it would be. Even without VIP tickets, my sister and Ihad a blast. Am hopeful that next year there will be more panels and even more fun stuff in store, but was super pleased with everything about it. The concert itself was epic. So excited for next year.

    KCON 2013...AWESOME!!!

by Naya281 on 8/28/13Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los Angeles

Me and my daughter had an amazing time at KCON. To see all these artist and amazing guest was unbelievable. My daughter and I have agreed to go to every KCON from now on. We were excited to see EXO, Teen Top, GD, f(x), Missy Elliot, Henry, Dynamic Duo, and many many more. We loved meeting Shin B, Dumbfoundead, Jackie (f(x)'s Amber sister), and G-Dragon's cousin the talented artist Mina Kwon. We would recommend this event to any who lives Korean Pop/Hip-Hop music.
