    Kaki is truly onto something

by tobrien on 4/18/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Kaki King showed her ability to create sounds and mold them into whatever she wants. Her ability to engage the audience with her banter was fun but more importantly was the attention her art attracted. Everyone at the venue was mesmerized and taken to a special place through her music.

    BEST NIGHT EVER

by theAnnaKristin on 4/17/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

First of all, the Bowery Ballroom is an awesome venue, very intimate. An Horse was just great. Amazing energy and purely good music. Kaki is just the best. It was a truly indescribable experience. She's an incredible guitarist and hard rocker. We had some great talks and she jumped downstage and danced with me and my friends. Imagine meeting and dancing with your idol...I did last night.

    Kaki King

This broad is nasty. An horse? Those two are insane. I'm just upset that I didn't go to the show on Thursday night in Williamsburg.

    She's amazing

by anpey21 on 4/17/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Kaki King is the best guitarist alive. I definitely prefered her instrumental pieces to the songs with vocals. Her music is beautiful anyway, but when it emanated from the stage, the drums just rattled your bones- it was awesome!

    Relaxed and happy

by billmweber100 on 4/17/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The best Kaki King concert I have been to. Playing with her new band, she was sharp. Very relaxed between songs, bantering with the audience.

    Floored.

by pnezzy on 4/17/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Kaki always puts on a great show. Last December I saw her at Williamsburg when she had a ruptured ear drum, and even though she was in pain and couldn't hear very well she managed to be funny and impressive... at least a 4 star show. Healthy Kaki is even better. Her shows are getting heavier and more lively but still manage to have the mellow acoustic stuff that made her famous. Jaw-dropping. For the encore she launched into the crowd and danced after setting up Gay Sons of Lesbian Mothers. And then she hung out and drank Vodka Tonics with everyone after the show.

Amazing show! The openers, An Horse, are fantastic! They create such beautiful, big sound with just a guitar and drums, and everyone rocked out to their songs. They were also friendly and happy to say hello and chat after the show, which is rare in today's fast-paced entertainment world. Kaki was unbelievable right from the start, playing "Falling Day" off her new record "Junior", which had just been released several days prior. She then did some amazing crazy solo on the guitar, and played 'pull me out alive', and some other songs I don't know the names of. It was a great experience: the crowd was receptive, the venue had good sound, great views, clean bathrooms, and nice bartenders. I would love to go back soon!

    Excellent

by Buffo on 4/16/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Kaki King is truly a guitar goddess and it's amazing to see her play live. If you are into her music you should definitely go to a show. The set started late and she has a lot more to play now--the crowd had thinned by the end but it was worth it to stay.
