About

Kacey Musgraves is a seven-time Grammy-winning country artist from Golden, Texas. The singer-songwriter released her major-label debut, Same Trailer Different Park, in early 2013, which notched her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The album also won Musgraves her first Grammy Awards for Best Country Album and Best Country Song (for lead single “Merry Go ‘Round”) as well as a Best New Artist nomination. Her sophomore effort Pageant Material (2015) was followed by the holiday-themed A Very Kacey Christmas (2016). Musgraves’ fourth album, 2018’s Golden Hour, swept all four categories it was nominated in at the 2019 Grammys, including Album of the Year. She then followed that critically acclaimed project with her 2021 visual album star-crossed, which documented the dissolution of her relationship with ex-husband Ruston Kelly. In 2024, Musgraves became the first artist to ever win in all four country categories at the Grammys thanks to the Zach Bryan collaboration “I Remember Everything” taking home the trophy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Preceded by lead single “Deeper Well,” the star’s sixth studio album, also titled Deeper Well, will arrive in March 2024.

    Great show

    by Kayakbabe1 on 2/16/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

Because of my health going to events like concerts are a challenge and overwhelming for me. But both the opening act and Kasey musgrave made it worth it .

    Great Show

    by BenD1969 on 2/16/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

Love the Carolina Theatre in Durham. First time sitting in balcony. View is good and sound quality was excellent. Kacey Musgraves put on a great show, form neon cacti to the light up "Western" style suits her band sported. Great mix of her old and new stuff, as well as some very entertaining covers (Dolly Parton's Here ya' Come Again, TLC's Scrubs, Miranda Lamberts Mama's Broken Heart). Kept the audience involved and on our feet with humorous interaction. My wife is the big fan, but I really enjoyed it. I also appreciated the quality of the opening act John and Jacob.

    Refreshingly Awesome!

by SingingLT on 2/16/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

Even though I'd never even heard her music before, I went along with my much-younger nieces and I was so glad I did. I couldn't help but fall in love with this great young artist. She has such a disarming down-to-earth demeanor, a super sweet singing voice and such honest, original lyrics that it all combined to make this a must-see performance. She even included a couple songs from her yet-to-be released album, which were equally fantastic. Can't wait for that album to come out. If you want to treat someone to a great concert experience, take them to see Kacey Musgraves.

    Kacey was boring

    by Quizzy123 on 2/16/15Carolina Theatre - Durham

I enjoyed the opening act more than the woman I wasted my money on to see. The event staff at the Carolina Theater were very nice and helped with a problem I was having, which was the only reason I gave this a 2 star review instead of 1. Kacey didn't have any songs that people haven't heard 1000 times before and while some people like that, but it wasn't for me. Her showmanship was lacking and rehearsed "funny" bits were a waste of time and awkward.

    Kacey Musgraves is an Original!!

    by CB45 on 2/15/15The Norva - Norfolk

Kacey Musgraves was great - she is a truly genuine artist with the soul of an original songwriter. Good performer but even better writer. Cannot wait for her new album. Hope the country music business machine does not ruin her. However, the venue at the NORVA is very so so, too much of a grungy bar feel - I had never been there before and it is definitely not worthy of an artist like Kacey. Her opening act, John and Jacob, was energetic but the quality of their sound was, for my tastes, pretty ragged. Also, to wait over 30 minutes between their departure and Kacey's arrival on the stage was too long - especially when the crowd is standing for the whole time!! Also, the venue (with its constantly available bar) lends a tone that is almost disrespectful to the artist - people talking over the music and running back and forth so they can get more boozed up! :( The one good thing I can say about that though is that it allowed me to move away from the rude couple right behind me that talked through Kacey's entire performance. Luckily, I moved away about half way through and was able to appreciate the music better. However, that negated the fact that I had gotten there early and had been able to secure a favorable spot near the stage. Obviously, my positive recommendation comes with clear reservations.

    Kacey Musgraves VIP

by JodyMac on 10/14/14Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

The concert was good but the VIP experience was not worth the money. We were told no photos with our cell phones and Kacey would not sign anything. I thought a meet and greet meant I would get to talk to her for a few minutes and I could bring something for her to sign. I was totally wrong...I saw her all of one minute and was told two or three times she would not be signing anything. I will not do another meet and greet through TicketMaster. Very disappointed in the experience.....

This was my first country concert and my first time at the Alabama Theatre. Kacey Musgraves was incredibly awesome! I sang along to every song she sang. I love her songwriting and her performance on stage. Can't wait for her next album! Y'all she's amazing!

by toothpicker on 10/7/14Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

I originally went to this concert to see the opening band John and Jacob. I had heard a couple of Kacey's songs on the radio and liked them. Wow!!! After seeing her in concert, I am definitely a huge fan. I went home and bought her album on Itunes I liked it so much.

    Wonderful Show

by CraigMo on 10/7/14Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

I saw Kacey at WorkPlay last time she was in town and it was a nice show. Saturday at the Alabama Theatre, she way exceeded that show by a large margin. She has obviously been working hard on her live show and the results were impressive. Very at ease talking to the crowd between songs, she made everyone in attendance feel connected to her. Her band is fantastic and her voice was incredible. Not a dull moment in the entire set. Even the new songs were absolute home runs. She had the crowd singing along through out the entire show. Just wonderful !

    Amazing show!!!!!

    by KRL1221 on 10/7/14Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

I purchased the tickets to take my 17yo sister who loves Kacey. I am more of an old school country fan and have attended over 100 country concerts from Charlie Daniels to Miranda Lambert and Eric Church. Kacey Musgraves blew my mind! She was amazing and put on one hell of a show. She is hilarious and has a great sense of humor on stage, The venue was amazing and we had great seats but decided to stand at the stage once Kacey came out, which security didn't have a problem with. I will see her again no doubt and I would love to attend another show at this venue again as well!

    Peyote eyes

by WeirdSin on 10/7/14Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

Don't get short changed and watch her as a warm up band. You need full headline show to get the Kacey Experience. Loved the band. Their suites glow and so does the stage cactus, but don't stare to hard at them or you'll get "Peyote Eyes".

KACEY MUSGRAVES IN A SMALL CLUB- SWEET!

by ChefMichael57 on 7/1/14THE BOWERY BALLROOM - NYC

Every Tuesday is release day for new music- So on Tuesday March 19, 2013 I was working through that weeks releases when I heard KACEY MUSGRAVES for the first time. Her debut album SAME TRAILER DIFFERENT PARK dropped that day. As I listened to it I was taken aback by the simple but profound lyrics. It was a lyrical exploration of the human condition that was refreshingly candid and entertaining. Then I watched a few of her studio performances on You Tube and found her stage presence to be delightful and endearing as well. Next- where to see her live? Unfortunately she was opening for big country acts in monster venues- not my cup of tea! But as time went by she announced her headlining tour and the first show was at one of my favorite small clubs THE BOWERY BALLROOM in NYC. With a capacity of around 500 this club is perfect to see rising talent in an intimate setting. Expect to experience traffic hell as this club is in the heart of the village. Also expect to pay 47$ for parking at the nearby parking garage. The venue itself is perfect and positioning ourselves 2ft from the stage was easy. BRANDY CLARK opened the show with a selection of tunes from her upcoming debut album 12 STORIES which would drop to critical acclaim a few weeks later on Oct 22. She was already a force in country music having written songs for big name artists and for KACEY as well. KACEY then came on and treated the audience to a selection of songs from her great album accompanied by her very talented band. It was a privilege to see both of these future country stars in this setting.

An intimate evening with Kacey Musgraves

    by charles914 on 4/10/14Jesse Auditorium - Columbia

It was great to see Kacey Musgraves and her band as a headline act in a small theater, rather than seeing Kacey as the opening act of a huge stadium show. I couldn't have enjoyed the evening with Kacey Musgraves more than I did that evening. It was a show attended by about 500 people, so everyone had a great view and was close to the stage. Kacey looked and sounded wonderful. After the show, she sat at a table and signed autographs for anyone who wanted one. I thought her taking the time to meet and mingle with her fans was really great. She had a show to do the next night halfway across the country, but instead of leaving as soon as the concert was over on that cold, rainy night she spent more than an hour getting personal with her fans. Not long after this concert Kacey began winning major awards, including a Grammy. Now that she is so much more well-known I don't know if she'll ever do another small, personal show like this one. But if she does, I'll be there. It was an unforgettable evening.
