I loved the show! Musically, Junip was wonderful. I wasn't too familier with their music, but now I am definitely a fan! Great crowd.

About
JUNIP IN CONCERT:
Swedish trio Junip have been thrilling audiences with their lush folk rock and intimate live performances since forming in the late ‘90s. Combining the sweet sound of Jose Gonzalez’s voice with Tobia Winterkorn’s synth experimentation, the band creates a full, all-encompassing sound during their shows. Whether Elias Araya is hammering out an intricate percussion solo on “Far Away” or the band is tearing through the beautiful orchestral piece “Line of Fire”, the members of Junip are masters of their craft and always get fans up on their feet whenever they take the stage.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Junip got their start in 1998 when members Jose Gonzalez, Elias Araya, and Tobia Winterkorn began playing music together as a hobby while working full-time jobs. Two years later they released their debut EP Straight Lines, putting their music on the map in the underground indie folk scene. After a short hiatus that saw Gonzalez embark on a solo venture, the band reunited and came out with two more EPs in the ‘00s. Since then Junip has released two full-length records to much acclaim – Fields (2010) and Junip (2013) – toured around the world, and had their music featured in numerous films and television shows. Junip are pioneers in the psychedelic folk genre, and their dark, alluring music continues to bring ticket buyers out in droves to their thrilling live performances.

by Fishlady on 5/24/11Brighton Music Hall - BostonThe opening act got a little bit obnoxious toward the crowd and it kind of made a sour feel in the room but once Junip started that changed and it was a great show. I would have to say they are a clean group with a great live sound and nice stage presence. Junip really seemed to be authentic in their playing. No pretense and it was a relaxing and enjoyable set of music. The venue is small and the sound was great. The price unbeatable.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Awesome show!
by Gambbp70 on 5/23/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKAll the bands were great... The HighHighs and the Acrylics did a nice job as the opening acts. I would probably go see either of these bands again. Junip, however, was the highlight of the show. They were incredible. Jose Gonzalez is an amazing singer and musician. I highly recommend seeing them.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Junip at Bowery Ballroom
by aljdev3 on 5/21/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKsecond time for me and the band - caught them at Irving Plaza day before Thanksgiving last year so the crowd was smaller and more intimate - really love Jose and the band and the band was tight - will be going to Prospect Park for the free show in July so you know i really like this band! only issue i ever have with GA venues is if you show up at a decent time and grab a good spot (and putting up with opening bands you are not really interested in seeing), guaranteed that some taller fans show up right before the main attraction goes on and partially blocks the view you set for yourself - unfortunately, that's the nature of these venues

by Mickey17 on 5/18/11Wexner Center Performance Space - ColumbusBest show I've ever seen. Jose Gonzalez's voice is simply haunting.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Junip was spot on!
by ScottieByNature on 5/18/11Wexner Center Performance Space - ColumbusThis was unlike any concert I've been to. First off, the venue... The Wexner Center itself is so cool and artsy that it instantly set a memorable vibe. Once found our way into the performance space, we were immediately struck by how intimate the room felt... the size, the decor, and the lighting were perfect. I should also mention the staff was much more friendly than you typically encounter at a show. Opening act was ok... Acrylics, out of NY. The key player had some tech issues with her keyboard, and the mix was off, was kind of hard to hear the male vocalist. I'll probably try to give their recordings a listen, at least out of fairness. Junip was incredible. Their mix was perfect as you could hear every instrument and every vocal. It was also helpful that the vibe was so intimate that the entire audience was completely quiet and attentive during the songs. At one point, I went to make a comment to my wife during the beginning of a song, and I felt the need to whisper to avoid interrupting what was happening on stage. The band performed incredibly well, and Jose Gonzalez's vocals were crystal clear perfection. I would absolutely go see this band again.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Excellent Live Show
by mike6 on 5/10/11El Rey Theatre - Los AngelesI was already a fan of Jose Gonzalez, so I decided to go see Junip. The show was amazing, and everything I hoped for. The only thing missing was (Turn to the Assassin) but then again, there were other great EP/Bsides that were played. The vocals were on, just like the album. The music was even more captivating live. The crowd was good natured and way into it. I would highly recommend this band and venue to others.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Junip rocks my acid socks
by rrodrigu on 5/8/11El Rey Theatre - Los AngelesI've been wanting to see Jose Gonzalez for some time now, so when his new band Junip came around, I decided to go. MY god, it was one of the most amazing, spiritual, enlightening, beautiful live shows that I have ever seen....and I've seen a lot. Of course, having a good sound and light person helped tremendously, but the band was absolutely on, playing songs from their new album, and re-interpreting them for a live audience. Dare I say, Junip is one of those amalgams that is even better when seen live. A MUST see the next time they come around.

Rating: 5 out of 5 serious rock
by JayDay on 5/8/11El Rey Theatre - Los AngelesNot only was the opener (The Acrylics) really good, Junip was great! 1. On time 2. friendly 3. Engaged w/ audience ( Jose forgot the lyrics at one point and kinda giggled) 4. Great mixture of acoustic and electric; there was a dubstep-like super heavy bass and the keyboardist (Tobias Winterkorn) rocked it. Great energy in the band; drums (Elias Araya and someone on the bongo-like drums) were excellent as well. A serious rock band. 5. Jose used an electronic instrument which he just tapped his finger on and it was great. Rhythm love! I felt like I was at an outdoor concert where he audience was enveloped with the band in a sound bubble. The sound was like a magnet.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Junip at the Music Box
by 12de12 on 11/20/10The Music Box - HollywoodThe music was great.. Junip even sounded better live than they do on their poorly recorded cds. The most (true) blondes I've seen at a concert in LA in forever. I was bummed that The Music Box did not open the upstairs for hanging out. Good show- started out strong, petered out in the middle, but they finished strong. I guess that's how you do it though. Hope to see them back next year.
Rating: 5 out of 5 AWESOME!!!
by RadRobyn on 11/16/10The Music Box - HollywoodAmazing show!!! Junip is incredible... very earthy with a touch of an eclectic, psychedelic sound. Jose Gonzalez' voice is absolutely awesome and the music was out of this world!!! :)
Rating: 4 out of 5 Didn't Disappoint
by ducttguy13 on 11/16/10The Music Box - HollywoodJunip played almost every song on their album, plus a few extras that were fantastic. They went for 1 1/2 hours, extending also some of their songs with long, creative instrumentals. Awesome.
