Wonderful show for all ages. Engaging songs, entertaining writing that brought the stories we love so much to life.

Not that great. Even my 6 year old was unimpressed and asked "was that all?"

    Wonderful Show

by Loves2Watch on 2/7/11Effingham Performance Center - Effingham

The show was wonderful. My daughter enjoyed herself very much! Disappointing that we can not take pictures inside the building. We hoped to get some pictures to save with our ticket stubs.

Junie B was great for the kids!

by GrandmaGeorge on 2/3/11Effingham Performance Center - Effingham

This performance was very enjoyable for the kids in attendance. Imagine a theater full of giggling little girls and that was the sound you heard during most of the performance. The actors had the characters of Barbara Park's lovable characters nailed, but in particular, the gentleman playing Sheldon stole the show. My 71/2 year-old granddaughter kept referring to "when Sheldon did" this or that when she talked about the hour long production, which she did for the rest of the day. She was also very impressed that the cast had came all the way from New York City just for the hour long play. As a teacher myself, I was a little disappointed that the actress playing Junie B. didn't quite have the character's mannerisms as natural as those of Sheldon's which is why my granddaughter enjoyed his character more than that of hers. Overall, however, it was a very special time to spend with my granddaughter and we both enjoyed it very much.

The actors were great. Most of them played multiple parts and were very quick to change and get ready for the next set. The show kept the attention of the audience of all ages! I hope EPC will continue to offer more family/children oriented shows.

The length of the show was perfect. I don't think younger children could have been able to sit too much longer. My 10 year old loved the show as he has read most of the books. Overall rating is a 4-star! This has nothing to do with the show, but it was very congested in the consession area....there wasn't a staff member to guide those that did/did not want a consession.

    Show Better than Venue

by benearly on 1/31/11Effingham Performance Center - Effingham

The Junie B Jones production was a great show for kids. The Effingham Performance Center leaves a lot to be desired. We were in Row E or 5 and could only see maybe half the stage. The seats extend far beyond the viewing area of the stage. I would reccomend the show but not the venue.

Junie B. Jones was Junie B. Great!

by hanrobec on 1/31/11Effingham Performance Center - Effingham

I thought the play was amazing. My daughter loved it. She danced in her seat and danced in the aisles afterward. It was very well sung and acted. The only things I would have changed are these. There were no programs handed out. It would have been nice if those were distributed. Also, the snack line was so long that my husband missed half of the play. Also, the sound was terrible. There were several occasions that there was terrible feedback with the microphones. Finally and most disappointing, the cast did not stay around to meet the audience and sign autographs and pose for pictures. My daughter was crushed that she did not get Junie B. Jones' autograph. As we were there getting pictures in front of the stage with the notebook in the background, the security guard (very gruffly) asked us to leave.

Junie B. is great fun for kids (and parents)

by cakeblast on 1/28/11Victory Theater - Evansville

The cast of six was absolutely wonderful. The actors each played multiple roles very convincingly and the actress playing Junie B. was fantastic. The children in the audience were rolling with laughter at some points. Any fan of the books will get a kick out of watching Barbara Park's words come to life in action and song. I was very impressed by the voices, costumes, and abilities of all the cast members. The set was cute and well designed for quick transitions between scenes. The play was very fast paced so even the most hyperactive kids were entertained throughout the play.
