About

Created by the Emmy®-winning writer from "Schitt's Creek," this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told. & Juliet asks: what would happen next if Juliet didn't end it all over Romeo? Get whisked away on a fabulous journey as she ditches her famous ending for a fresh beginning and a second chance at life and love--her way.

Juliet's new story bursts to life through a playlist of pop anthems as iconic as her name, including "Since U Been Gone" "Roar," "Baby One More Time," "Larger Than Life" "That's The Way It Is," and "Can't Stop the Feeling!"--all from the genius songwriter/producer behind more #1 hits than any other artist this century. Break free of the balcony scene and get into this romantic comedy that proves there's life after Romeo. The only thing tragic would be missing it.

  • Powerful Performance, But Not for All Ages

by MindfulMomReviews on 10/23/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

I truly enjoyed the performance—the singing was outstanding, and the overall message was powerful and thought-provoking. However, I felt somewhat uncomfortable with the number of young children in the audience. Although I read the “About” section before attending, I did not realize that some of the themes and messaging might not be appropriate for all ages. I believe the theater could do a better job of clarifying the nature of the plot and its intended audience. From my reading, the production emphasized women’s empowerment rather than a broader, gender-inclusive message. As a parent, I appreciate having clear and detailed information upfront so I can make informed decisions about what is suitable for my child.

  • Juliet & more in all her glory

by Preethi on 10/22/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This is my first show and it was wonderful. The artists were amazing and talented. This was such a unique take on the classic play and it was fun, inspiring, thought provoking and entertaining. It was everything I was hoping to see in a show. This will be the first of the many shows I will be watching.

  • A Great Twist

by Kathy C on 10/22/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

William Shakespeare must not only be turning in his grave because of this interpretation of his play, he’s probably dancing! This was such a clever, fun, well performed and totally delightful show. The twists of the plot only served to add more drama to an already great show. Thanks for having this wonderful show!

  • Twice is Still Not Enough

by Forever Fan on 10/21/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the Best Broadway Performances that I’ve experienced in a long time. I attended the show twice each time with new friends who had never heard of the show - one from the UK. Both friends loved the show the twist of the plot for Juliet and of course the amazing choreography of all aspects to the show. This will be on my “See it Again” list to invite others to experience “& Juliet”

  • so sad

by Grandma on 10/21/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

It was overall a very poor experience. The acoustics were terrible the sound you could hardly even understand what they were saying and just a very poor performance overall, I thought.

  • & Juliet is FANTASTIC

by alansdiego on 10/20/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Great cast led by amazingly talented Juliet and Anne. Everyone soared. Great fun, great message. Scenery, lights, acoustics and cast were all top notch-as good as anyone on Broadway (and we go to a lot of shows in NYC). Bravo!!!

  • Amazing performance!

by SAS on 10/20/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Such a fun experience! I loved the modern storyline with nostalgic 90’s music. The cast was amazing and gave us a true performance. Bravo!

  • Spectacular!!

by Jamie on 10/20/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great and the cast phenomenal! Absolutely loved the show and would gladly go see it again! The cast absolutely killed it! It’s a jukebox musical, so lots of familiar songs to a lot of people. You don’t have to know the musical to know the songs for this one. Definitely more for the girls, but I also know a lot of guys that would have enjoyed it as well.

  • Anne Hathaway kicks Will Shakespeare’s butt

by Jenny on 10/20/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Their relationship really is my favorite part of it and so unexpected which maybe means I shouldn’t spoil it but how could you not love a play that includes Will Shakespeare rewriting one of his most famous plays, tons of Easter, eggs of Shakespeare place, and a zombie ex-husband to round it all out.

  • Phenomenal from start to finish!

by SDMom on 10/20/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Phenomenal from start to finish! The voice, the dance, and the humor made it a truly electrifying experience — easily one of the most exciting Broadway shows I’ve ever seen.

  • Even our 8-year-old cousins loved it

by Chelsea on 10/19/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I loved everything about this. It was such high energy with great music. I was afraid I wouldn’t recognize the songs, but of course I knew all of them because they’re pop tunes, but worked in in a special way.
