Tye Tribbett was off the hook. Poor Kirk Franklin!

by DNicole on 7/13/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The show was great overall. Wish they could have been more expedient in changing out the equipment between performers. then Kirk may have gotten more time to minister

    EXCELLENT CONCERT/ BAD SETUP!!!

    by M3NTAL on 7/13/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The setup team took too long between acts and never got setup in time for the main event. He had to just come out and do the best he could before his time ran out. Fortunately for the fans, He (Kirk Franklin) did not take it out on us that the stage was not setup for him, as he came out without mics being ready for him. This is one of the best lineups ever presented by the Joyfest at Carowinds. Each artist gave great performances of their music. It wasn't just a show, but a great worship service.

    What a "JoyFest"

    by Destined4Purpose on 7/13/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

This concert was simply amazing. Having lived in NC before, I've heard of this event, but never put forth the effort to go...until this past June. This concert was awesome!!! It blessed me tremendously to see such a large crowd of people gathered together with one agenda...GOD!! I was also touched by the amount of young worshippers in the crowd who was not embarrassed, ashamed or too proud to glorify God. And the performers...Purposed by Design... What an amazing show these artists put on… truly anointed!!! I had almost forgotten I was at an amusement park.

    Joyfest

by Docjr on 7/13/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

Each the stage hands were too slow in between sets. They moved like slugs. So there for time got trimmed of each artist.

    Best of the Gospel

    by lilone09 on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

It was a great event I never experienced anything like it. It was touching and a moment for all people from different places to come together and have a blessed time. I would definitely come back next year and bring more people if they have it. The things I didnt like was the long concession lines. I stood in the line for about an hour. I missed one performance. I felt it couldve been avoided, but the concession attendant was moving slow and goofing off with other employees. I also didnt like how they didnt let Kirk Franklin finish all his perfomance. If they didnt have all those local people talking on stage then maybe all the performers could perform.

    Joyfest was joyful

by Songsational on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The program was very well organized. My only complaint was some of the presenters may have gone a little over the time limit, due to the fact that the final performance could not be given in full. Time limits need to be monitored closely. One speaker took up a majority of the time and I am not sure if this was him doing promotion or because he was stalling for time.

    Joyfest was a joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by DeeDeeK on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The concert was sssooooo good! All of the artist performed well. The only complaint I have is that it took the stage crew so long to get Kirk Franklin's set together that he ran out of time and he was rushed off of the stage. Maybe next time it can start a little eariler so in case problems like this occur again, it will not cut anyone's preformance short. Overall the concert was excellent.

    TYE TRIBETT WAS AWESOME

by TRULYBLESSED on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

I TRULY ENJOY GOING TO THIS EVENT. THIS IS MY 3RD YEAR GOING AND I HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPOINTED YET. I TRULY ENJOYED EACH ARTIST THAT PERFORMED. TYE WAS EXCELLENT AS USUAL. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME SEEING KIRK FRANKLIN AND I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE. THE ONLY THING WAS THE TIME ISSUE. IT SEEMS THAT EACH ARTIST HAD TO LEAVE THE STAGE TOO SOON! I WANTED MORE OF EACH. OVERALL I WILL DEFINATELY ATTEND EVERY JOYFEST THAT COMES.

    Excellent event

    by Eric1 on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The concert was wonderful but was plagued by one problem. Too many acts or not enough concert time allotted for all the acts to give their full concert. As a result the feature performer Kirk Franklin had his act cut short because the park had to close and the paladium emptied.

    Anointed singers added to Joyfest!

by Judah on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

Joyfest was JOYFUL this year! Marvin Sapp, the gospel singer of the year, did not disappoint the crowd. He did "Never Would Have Made It," but he also performed his other songs. I left wanting to buy his older projects! Smokie Norful came with lots of energy! I was pleased with his performance. Tye Tribett is ALWAYS a crowd pleaser. I listened to his songs before the concert so that I could sing along to every single song. I was acting like a rock star for JESUS when GA was on the stage. Kirk Franklin attracted me to the concert this year, but he was a disappointment. I'm glad that he was the last act because I felt like his focus was more on entertaining than on worshipping.

    Joyfest was a blessing!

by BKelly on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

I have attended Joyfest at Carowinds for years now.... It was AWESOME this year! The line up continues to get better each year - (but I really missed Fred Hammond this year). And for the first time, I purchased my tickets online this time (at the last minute I must say) and it was effortless. For all of you who love Jesus, gospel music, and being a part of a multitude - get your tickets for Joyfest 2010! YOU WILL BE BLESSED!

    JOYFEST WAS AMAZING!!!!!!

    by Concert1 on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The concert was absolutely amazing. The anointing of God was definitely in the place. From the time the show start until the end of the show God was all up in it. The only negative thing I can say about it was the last performer of the night, which was the awesome Kirk Franklin, did not get a chance to fully complete his concert. Thanks to the idiots at Carowinds he was force off the stage before he could complete his performace because Carowinds was closing. I will attend the concert next year, I just hope that next year even if the park closes and performers are on stage that they will let the performers finish instead of forcing them off stage and threating to call the Fire Marshall. We paid alot of money for tickets we should be able to see the whole performance. I think that is just Carowinds rules. I believe other parks stay open after parks hours so that the artist can complete their performances and the people can get what they paid for. Again, it was a wonderful, amazing, Godly experience that I will never forget and would recommand to everyone. I will definitely attend every year if I can. WONDERFUL!!!

by MUSIQCHILDSOUL on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

AWESOME SHOW EVERYONE WAS GREAT AND WHEN U HAVE A GREAT ACT LIKE KIRK FRANKLIN YOU NEED TO CUT BACK ON SOME OF THE ACTS SO THE HEADLINER CAN GET THERE WHOLE TIME ALLOWED BECAUSE HE WAS CUT SHORT RIGHT WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS HIGH!!! OTHER THAN THAT EVER THING WAS FINE

    The Joyfest was fabulous!!!

    by JoJo1 on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

The joyfest was an unforgetable experience. The performers were wonderful. There was a time limit in the park so it ended abruptly but it was an experience of a lifetime. This type of gospel celebration was one to remember for a very long time. I am really looking forward to the same kind of show next year. We had good seats even after purchasing on the internet. The ordering process and description of the seat location was on right on target.

    Joyfest always a joy!

by Godschild on 7/12/09Carowinds Paladium - Charlotte

I enjoyed the actual Joyfest concert however, I think it is time to move away from the venue. The artists that were there were Marvin Sapp, Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin, Smokie Norful and last year's Sunday Best winner Crystal Aiken. I believe all the opening artists received a fair amount of time onstage but I feel the final 2 performers (Tye an Kirk) were rushed. When the Spirit is moving, it should not be interrupted or put on a time limit. All of the performances were great! Crystal Aiken has a powerful voice. Smokie Norful and Marvin Sapp are awesome at bringing you into worship. Tye Tribbett gave us the Word as well as ministered to uswith music. Kirk Franklin was the headliner and he was awesome!....he did some songs from back in his early days like "Melodies from Heaven"
