About

Jordin Sparks burst into the spotlight in 2007, when she was named the youngest contestant to win American Idol at age 17. Since then, she has become a household name, releasing catchy love songs like "No Air" and "Tattoo" that showcase her powerful vocals and upbeat attitude. What tends to stand out to the ticket buyers who attend her concerts is her engaging, sweet personality and raw vocal talent. One of the most magnetic performers in American Idol history, Sparks has wowed fans at each of her three concert tours since 2007. The release of the 2013 single "Skipping a Beat" was in preparation for her third studio album, giving fans an idea of what to expect from her 2014 release.

Sparks has been singing since she was a toddler, garnering dozens of awards and even winning a modeling contest before trying out for the sixth season of American Idol. Initially rejected by the judges at her Los Angeles audition, the ever-resilient young singer auditioned again in Seattle, not only making it on the show, but going on to win first place. After Idol, she released the single "No Air" from her self-titled debut album, earning a Teen Choice Award, an American Music Award, and, most impressively, a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. Her second album, 2009's Battlefield, achieved similar success, landing at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and earning her another hit with its title track. Since her tour for that album in 2010, Jordin has explored other areas of the entertainment industry, appearing in films and photo shoots. Despite her busy schedule, Jordin remains focused on her music and plans to release her third album in 2014.

Jordin Sparks - Sweet, Charming, & Wonderful!

    by MattN38 on 10/30/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

The one thing you can count on from American Idol is that when you go to the concerts of their former contestants/winners, you can bet they will be fantastic live. Jordin is no exception. She has a voice built for live venues, and the concert was perfect evidence of that. Not only did she come off confident, beautiful, and sweet, Jordin rocked the show from start to finish. My only disappointment with the show was the absence of Jordin's song, "The Cure" which would've been absolutely beautiful live.

I'm a long time fan of Jordin and would love her show even if she called in sick. As a matter of fact the very first ticket I have with her name on it she did call in sick with that vocal cord problem. There is just something special about this girl and for me I just really enjoy to hear her sing live. I really liked her show at the HOB because it is a more personal setting with a way better sound than the large arena's where I have seen her in the past. I would agree that Jordin Sparks is under rated and for that matter under promoted. The message she sends in her music is what we all need a whole lot more of these days.

    Jordin was awesome

Jordin was fantastic-- our only complaint is that a few fans waited around for hours after the concert to get a picture with her, and she never came out! :(

    Jordin Sparks rocked Chicago HOB

by HarryFanChicago on 7/19/10House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

I saw Jordin Sparks perform at the House of Blues in Chicago on July 17, 2010. It was a great show. She played mostly songs from her new album, Battlefield, and songs from the previous album that you'd recognize from the radio... Tatoe, No Air, One Step at a Time. She also played a broadway style song from her upcoming broadway show. There were several backup singers, a couple of dancers, and other musicians. I wished she would have glammed up a bit more instead of having her hair in a pony tail. This was an all ages show and all the little girls loved it.

Jordin was amazing! I saw her at a small venue, so it was very intimate. She has so much energy and her back up band was awesome. I would recommend this concert to everyone.

    Jordin Sparks didn't disappoint!

by Jonboysf on 7/11/10The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Wasn't sure what to expect from Jordin Sparks and figured we could leave after Tattoo and No Air. So glad we stayed for the whole show! The crowd ranged from tweens to high school kids to moms & grandmas to gay men and everyone seemed to be really into the show. Jordin was far beyond expectations, had big energy, terrific backup singers and musicians and a great guest star (Aussie, Guy Sebastian with whom she has recorded an amazing new song!). Her voice was great and never faded. Pop music is her forte and she is smart to stick to what she knows and does it very well. She was also smart to save Tattoo and No Air until the very end since 11pm is past a lot of her fans' bedtimes! I would definitely recommend seeing her and would see her again for sure.

    Jordin Sparks in SD!

by Batvamp on 7/9/10House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

The opening acts were great and lively, and when Jordin came on, she was sweet, energetic and sang beautifully. The band was on point, she interacted with her fans and the set was primarily up-beat. After seeing her live, I feel as though she is heavily underrated and I will be purchasing her new album.

Jordin and her bro rocked, the others weren't good

by princessmargie123 on 7/7/10McMenamins Crystal Ballroom - Portland

I was soooo excited to go and see Jordin but i was disappointed that the opening acts took up 2-3 times as much time as Jordin did, i really wish that the opening acts would have used a smaller slot of time and Jordin would have had the big slot.

    Jordin Sparks at The Showbox

by EmmaZoeMom on 7/6/10Showbox at the Market - Seattle

There were 4 acts at her show, including Jordin. Act 1 - The Mesh. They were ok, somewhat fun. Act 2 - Days Different - these guys were unexpectedly good, we were all pleasently surprised (you know how opening acts usually suck? Well, these guys were great and are definately going places!). Act 3 - Ashlyne Huff - TERRIBLE. OMG! They must do her voice up ALOT in the studio to make her sound decent on the radio. She's cute and nice, but she sings as well as I do and that ain't saying much at all! Geez, whatever happened to talent? Oh, I know, they saved the best for last. Act 4 - Jordin Sparks - FANSTASTIC!!! Man, can she sing and she puts on a really good show. My kids loved her, the audience loved her, I loved her and I would see her again in a heartbeat!

    Very Impressed with Jordin !

by Anonymous on 7/4/10Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I was pleasantly surprised by how truly talented Jordin Sparks was in concert. I took my 11 and 14 year old girls who had a blast! Jordin is an unbelievable gorgeous singer and you can tell an even more beautfiul person. She is a really great performer on stage: she connects with the audience with her engaging smile and classy dance moves. She is a confident, mature, role model and should have super star status! It should be noted that she has an amazingly talented band as well which brought her show to a whole other musical level which we really appreciated. On the other hand, the less than notable opening acts were embarrassing to watch. The boy band "Days Difference" was "cheesy" by the 11 and 14 year old standards set by my girls, eventhough they stated they could kind of sing. The girl opener Ms. Huff was a washed up looking mess. She put no effort into her tasteless fashion and had clearly dirty hair. Her first song titled, "Comeback" was kind of pathetic. She was really the worst live performer I have seen in years in a professional venue and my girls thought that she was not as good as kids they have seen in their school perform. On the other hand, my 14 year old daughter who is a singer songwriter, felt good to know that her music is by far better than that which was a confidence boost........It surprised me that Jordin couldn't get someone much better than her to open. We would absolutely see Jordin perform again but skip the openers............also her super cute and gracious little brother PJ made my girls very happy after the show by taking pictures with them! Thank you for a fun night!

i met jordin before the show and she is thee most sweetes person i have ever met! she isn't fake at all. i had front row seats for the concert so she reached out and touched my hand twice! and she smiled and waved at me in the beginning!! She sounded spectacular too. she even danced to some of her songs. like choreograhed dancing and i was quite impressed and i looooooved it. I have seen jordin live about 7 times and this is definitely one of the best she's ever done. She's an incredible and amazing young lady. :)))))))))))
