I have loved this Guy's music my entire life. I wanted to be just like him growing up. Learned to play guitar because of him. I still have a red dot and a sunburst strat just like he plays now. I will see him every time he comes or is playing nearby. The dude's a class act and performer and a gentleman on and off the stage.
We caught Johnny at the Hard Rock in Biloxi on Friday, Oct. 22. This was a return engagement for the four in my party, as we had caught him at the same venue a year ago. If anything, he was even better this time. He gave us all his standards (which is what we came for) but also added a new acoustic version of " House of the Rising Sun", along with "The American Dream" from his new CD "Shadows on the Moon". All agreed this was a lights out, two-thumbs-up performance, a full 2 hour trip back to the days of REAL, DARNED, GOOOD MUSIC, BY REAL DARNED GOOD MUSICIANS. (We played his new CD on the way back to Mobile after the concert, and the consensus was very favorable, great songs with tight lyrics and music. I added it to my iPod Saturday, it's just that good.)
Johnny Rivers comes to Biloxi about yearly, and I have seen him several times over the past 10 years that I have lived here. Besides looking youthful and being energetic, he is the only well-known performer I have been to see here who will stay after the show to sign autographs and speak to everyone who wants to, down to the last one. His show included all the oldies we still want to hear, new songs, and audience participation. He seems like a real down to earth guy. Can't wait to see him next time! He's been performing over 50 years....
To be honest, I had no real desire to see this show. I went with friends and it was absolutely wonderful. I recently read a review that Johnny Rivers was one of the most underappreciated talents around and I would second that.......he has written some classics and a lot I did not know he wrote.....but most of all, it was just a really fun time by an artist and band that cared about music and loved what they were doing!
Had a wonderful time! His music is timeless! His voice is as great as ever! His guitar playing was awesome! Great mix of oldie's, classics and new! Hated for the show to end! I really appreciated the autograph session following the concert! What a treat to meet and greet such a music legend!
Very tight band and excellent musicianship. Johnny voice is in fine form, sound better than ever. Please bring him back!
Johnny Rivers is most definitely at the top of his game,he was remarkable! His singing is so good and his guitar playing was amazing.If this guy isnt in the rock and roll hall of fame soon,I would have to say the hall of fame doesnt have a clue!If you are truly looking for a night to remember,go see Johnny Rivers.I think he still loves doing this so get to his show before he stops,you wont be disappointed.His shows make memories.
Has a great new CD out and for those who don't know who Johnny is get some of his older music from the 60's and listen to it and then get his new CD--he is a rocker who can do blues, R&B and tells stories in his music. Great time at his concert.
Johnny is one of the few great singers and guitar players, that still goes on tours and has the same quality in his music that I remember in the 60's. He has a voice that is unforgettable.
We had such a wonderful time last night going to the Johnny Rivers show at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, WA. He sang all the oldies as well as some of his newer material. His voice was as good as ever! It was non-stop music from the beginning to the end of the show some 90 minutes later. We would absolutely go again!!
For a man just turning 70 he is just as good as he was 45 years ago!
I saw Johnny over 20 years ago and was pleased to see that he still puts on a great show. No foul mouth words, just a strong heart-felt performance that had a good mix of his old and new stuff plus hits from others. You won't be disappointed.
This was my 6th time to see Johnny in concert. I believe the 1st was in 2005. I will continue going when he comes South.
Johnny Rivers was certainly a musical event. Both vocals and guitar work were excellent, and he reminded me of all the great music I used to listen to. Great concert! Wished I could have figured out how to get tickets closer to the stage. Ticketmaster's webpage would not let me chose.
I grew up in Baton Rouge watching Johnny get his groove on and move up in the music industry. When I saw him at The Hard Rock in Biloxi he was energetic and sounded really great. Johnny played a lot of new music that is fun to listen too. I recommend it.

My husband and I had brought my parents as their gift from us for Mother's & Father's Day. We enjoyed the show very much, he was an outstanding performer as we all had remembered him. The only thing I was disappointed in was the seating arrangement at the Hard Rock. That was the first concert I attended there and I told my husband I could have paid for the cheaper seats and sat in the balcony for an hour and seen him better than I did on the floor. For being what I consider the "PLACE" (HARD ROCK) known for rock concerts. I am glad I know the seating arrangement now in case I do go for a Hard Rock Band Concert. Thank you for listening.

Johnny Rivers is one of the most talented musicians I have ever seen. Really enjoyed the concert.
Rivers proved throughout the evening that he can still perform with the best of them. He took the crowd through a journey of all his beloved hits, and some that weren't. No one in the near capacity crowd left disappointed after being entertaind for over one and a half hours. Most simply wanted to do it again.
