Johnny Reid on Tour
When Johnny Reid introduces a song, his natural Scottish burr is plain as day, but as soon as the Canadian country star — who moved to Canada as a kid — starts to sing, the North American spirit inhabits him. Reid's voice is full of classic country twang, but at the same time it bears a gruff brand of soulfulness that can sometimes make him sound like a country version of Bruce Springsteen. The band pumping away behind him sports a similar mixture of musical flavors, bringing a dash of rock 'n' roll and soul to Reid's countrified tunes. Never one to put on airs, Reid brings a guy-next-door vibe to his performances, no matter how big the venue, and even when he's got the crowd singing along in an arms-aloft anthem, he still has a way of maintaining an intimate connection with his audience on every song.
Johnny Reid in Concert
When Johnny Reid was a child in the small Scottish town of Lanark, it would have seemed incredibly unlikely that he would grow up to become a Canadian country music star — but that's exactly what he did. Reid was 13 when he and his family made the move to Canada, and it didn't take long for him to soak up the North American vibe that would one day guide his career. In 1997 Reid released his debut album, Another Day, Another Dime. It wasn't until his third album, 2005's Born to Roll, that things really began to take off for Reid; the single "Gypsy Soul" hit No. 12 on the Canadian country charts, and the album eventually went platinum in Canada. Solidly on the path to stardom, Reid went on to score a long string of hits in the years to come. In the process, he also managed to rack up an astonishing number of honors, including multiple Juno awards, and a towering heap of awards from the Canadian Country Music Association.

My only recommendation would be for the sound crew to bring up the backup vocals a little. Much of the time we couldn't hear them. I know you don't want to over-power Johnny but they do need to complement him. Turn up the background vocals a wee bit please. Was a most ebjoyable evening and the three of us were so happy to have attended!

I missed his old music and when he did sing the older stuff I could tell the audience completely loved it! During these last two years and all the changes we’ve gone through it felt so good to hear older stuff. Love the show and I love Johnny Reid!

We did as Ticketmaster recommended and downloaded our tickets to our Apple Wallet. The Grey Eagle Event Centre unfortunately had no "reader" to scan our tickets and we were therefore directed to open them in our Ticketmaster App. Long story short, MANY, MANY people were unable to gain access to the venue for a variety of reasons (couldn't remember their Ticketmaster password, purchased tickets in more than one episode and could only access the most recent, etc.) After waiting in a long line for a long time we, among others, were directed back to the Box Office to receive printed tickets and then had to start all over. So very frustrating.

Food service was so busy but very efficient and food was great Beautiful space and very impressive Concert was fabulous and so much energy and fun. He intetacts with his fans, especially the kids. He knows how to fill a stage with his presence. He tells stories and is just a spectacylat artist to watch. Im not a huge gan of all hus music, but I makr sure to see him everytime he comes to Calgary!

The energy he gives and creates is second to none. This year though, I was disappointed how loud the music was which made it difficult to actually enjoy John's incredible voice. What a special moment when his daughter joined him for Fa la la la la! Dads and daughters are magic.
