John Waite and his band was amazing at Penn's Peak. He mixed classics with new material and the finale was "A Whole Lotta Love,"the Zepplin classic, which was done very well. Waite put on a memorable show.
He could have played longer..even thought he was good…the band and John seemed a bit off…not one of their better nights. Not sure he was into it..
He did a great job. Of course, there were variances between his singing and the record, but every performer gets tired of singing the same song over and over again and want to take artistic license to break the monotony. In the very beginning, I thought he had lost his sound but after the 3rd song, his vocal cords were sufficiently warmed up and he was the same Babys lead singer that we all know and love. His band did a great job. I wish he had shared some stories. Jeffrey Gaines opened for him and while many people knew who he was, I didn't. Hell, a friend of mine to me at one time he was her neighbor! The event was at Penn's Peak, a venue at the top of the mountain that sits above the town of Jim Thorpe, PA. It is a great little complex. Not a bad seat in the house. It also has a restaurant for you to catch a meal before the show.
John did not disappoint! Great songs and performance! Jeffery Gaines was solid!
Concert was good, but so many people were talking over the concert that I was hearing them instead of the music. No respect for other people that worked hard to be able to spend on something that they worked hard to enjoy.
John Waite writes the words/lyrics to the tapestry of life. John has an emotional IQ of a thousand men. His voice is like velvet. John gave a magnificent performance.
John Waite and Co. put on an amazing performance of powerful hits and a few surprises. Opening act Jeffrey Gaines was fantastic as well!! Highly recommend.
OK, the opening act was HORRIBLE!!!! That is putting it mildly. My wife and I were going to leave during the opening act, but WAITEd for John. There were only two songs that I knew of. John is talented, yes. also very polite. While we knew of only two songs in the program, we wanted to see him anyway. Most of the other songs were not what we would listen to. The group was very talented and knew each other for years, but not my overall taste. Happy I got to see John, but I will stick with artists I can say I know more of the songs they played.
John Waite’s voice is still really good. However the very loud volume of the guitar and bass guitar made it difficult to appreciate his voice. The floor seats at The Paramount were possibly the single most uncomfortable seats in which I have ever sat.
Tommy Tutone was enjoyable. Two thumbs up for him. John Waite still great and able to rock it. Voice still outstanding after all these years. I’d see him again!
We enjoyed the John Waite show very much. John has an amazing voice and his show was fantastic!
This was my 2nd time seeing John Waite at the Taft Theater and he was outstanding both times!
We truly enjoyed the show and would recommend his show for great music!
John Waite and the band put on a great performance.
I had a great time seeing John Waite at the Taft Theater. He delivered an outstanding performance- full of energy and backed by his incredible voice. His set list was packed with his from his impressive career, every song had the crowd engaged. I would absolutely see him again and I highly recommend catching one of his shows if you get the chance!
Tommy Tutone was a fantastic surprise. He was very entertaining. And JW was as excellent as I had hoped.
John Waite's voice is amazing! Great song list and I liked the smaller venue for a more intimate gathering.
John Waite was soo good. He sounded great. The energy never ended. He is first class all the way. Can’t wait till he comes back
Great concert and he did a really good job playing his old songs. It was a great performance, and the sound was spot on. No complaints really but if I had to have one, I would say the duration was too short. He only played for an hour and a half and left us wanting more. He is 72 years old though so I guess that can be expected at that age. Great concert overall and I am glad that I went.
