Imaginocean Not So Clever, Original or Funny

by dshluf on 11/27/12Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I took my 7 year old daughter to see the show and she said that she enjoyed it. But she was not laughing or clapping much throughout the show. The puppets were cute and their movements were interesting. But, the story was very basic and kind of trite (i.e. 3 friends who find a treasure map and look around only to discover that the friendship was the treasure all along). It is really appropriate for children who are in the pre-school set. It was also very short (i.e. about 45 minutes) which made it a very expensive ticket for what it was. I don't think this was much better than shows at JCCs or regional theaters that are 1/3-1/2 the price. Overall, not so great.

    Imaginocean

by BernieNJ on 11/27/12Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

We attended the show with our 2 year old. This was his first real show. He was very engaged but got bored towards the end which is understandable. The price for the tickets was very expensive even with the discount code I used.

The show was a little short but what was presented thrilled our 32 month old. Cute story line, fun tunes

Very Cute live play for families

by Kerinyc1 on 11/13/12NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

I took my 3 year old who has a limited attention span. This show was the perfect length. He really enjoyed it and when we were walking back to the car he said " I really like that show, it was awesome". When he is happy, I am happy.

    Short but sweet

by Anonymous on 11/13/12NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

The show was incredibly short but that did not make it bad! I think it kept the kids' attention very well and had it been longer I am not so sure that would've been the case. My 4 year old son enjoyed the show very much.

    Imaginocean-disappointing

by GrandmaP54 on 1/16/12Civic Center - Des Moines

Grandma and Grandpa took our 6 year old grandson to the Civic Center to see Imaginocean. Our grandson enjoyed the complimentary "pre" show activities..coloring and making a button, making the fish puppet and the snap on bracelet. As far as the show was concerned, we were disappointed and our grandson was bored! We sat in row GG and from our view the puppets were much too small for such a large theatre. The storyline also seemed to proceed slowly and did not hold our grandson's interest. It was advertised as an hour long show...but it was only 45 minutes. We considered ourselves lucky to get out early!

    Good message in short time

by preschool5 on 1/16/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

I enjoyed that at any angle or row you could see what was going on clearly. The pre ent songs and crafting was very organized.Liked the neon colors like you'd see under water. Could have been louder over crying babies -it was during nap time for some. Another major suggestion would be to show the puppet masters in their black outfits at the end giving a bow with lights up for the kids to see. My 5 yr old kept asking where are the people that are running the puppets?

    Imaginocean was ok.

by Anonymous on 1/16/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

The timing was good, as my kids were calm just before nap time. The crafts before the show were good and tied into the performance. The show themes and music were also good. I was hoping to see John Tartaglia as we are big fans of Johnny & the Sprites, but no luck. :(

    Imaginocean was great entertainment.

by Loueller on 11/22/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

My husband and I carried our grandsons, ages 11 and 4. We all enjoyed it. Our 4 year old wanted to see it again. I was surprised at how much our 11 year old enjoyed it. It was refreshing to see him take a break from video games, etc. Amazing choreography with the puppets and the story line was uplifting.

    ImaginOcean was absolutely spectacular!

by SassyBoo on 11/21/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

I was afraid taking my 5 month old granddaughter might be pushing it a bit. However, I don't believe she even blinked during the first thirty minutes! She stood in my lap captivated by all of the sounds, action and bright colors the entire time. I'm extremely happy that I took her and will take her again if I have the chance.

    I was not really impressed!!!

by thetwobeauties on 11/21/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

I think it was too short. I expected it to last at least for an hour or so for somereason. We have cancelled another event for that evening and unfortunately I feel that it wasn't really worth it. Nevertheless, this was our first time at Orpheum as a family so I am glad that my kids have experienced being there. We will be back for the Magic School Bus in January Thanks Note: Pease make it easier for us to submit a review by eliminating the nickname part.it took me awhile to submit my review; my nickname was either too short or taken by another person....Thanks

Great for the under 7 crowd

by dancingbaptist on 11/21/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

We took 3 of our grandchildren, ages 1 1/2, 3 1/2 and 5 1/2. They loved the puppets, songs, and bubbles and 45 minutes was the perfect length for the youngest.

    John Tartaglia's Imaginocean

by BEstrada on 11/18/11Carolina Theatre - Durham

The show was cute and my 2 year old loved it as well as my nieces (3 & 4). The bubbles from the ceiling were exciting for them. The show only being 30 min long was a bit disappointing and the seats we had were very uncomfortable (not the show's issue).

    dissappointed

by AshMurr on 11/17/11Carolina Theatre - Durham

Show started almost 30mins late, which is a problem with an audience FULL of young kids. The show did not really capture the kids attention. The theatrics / ideas were impressive but the most of the audience seemed to get bored.

    a great kids show

by carouselwing on 11/17/11carolina theatre - durham

The sensation of being "under the ocean" at the beginning and end is undeniable. We went and the kids were focused from beginning to end. The show started about 15 minutes late. It was colorful, had lots of singing and music, and was short enough to keep a 4 year old's attention.
