John Paul White shines with a new album that is reminiscent of Roy Orbison. A voice that conveys the problems of the regular guy. His thoughtful lyrics and song arrangements are sure to bring a tear to your eye. The band is tight and backs him up but doesn’t over power his acoustic guitar. Totally a show not to miss!!
What great sound! They were well rehearsed, or, they are good enough to make it appear so. These guys must be Muscles Shoals studio people. Shonna, on the bass, has an excellent sound and dependability. The guitar guy was very, very tasteful and the steel guitar was from space. Drummer never stood out (which seems to be hard for most), but when he was meant to stand out, it was just right. John Paul White is a special kind of writer and his voice quality and use is the way I wish I could sing.
Love going because he is low key but a beautiful storyteller both in personally and through song. Haunting voice is just as amazing live.
John Paul White is a masterful song writer, incredible guitar player and has a voice that you just cant put into words. As a former pro audio engineer, he is one of the most talented people that I have ever seen. He described playing the historic Lyric Theatre as a bucket list thing for him and it showed. Awesome performance and such a special venue. So happy to have been a part of it. Cant wait to see him again!
John Paul White is the pinnacle of musical artistry. He literally tells a story with song and brings you into the story with him. He's probably my favorite artist of all time (and I listen to a lot of music). The Lyric Theatre was a perfect venue and I will definitely be back!
