My younger son (who’s 17) asked me to bring him to this show. I didn’t quite know what to expect. I absolutely loved it! She made me laugh so hard, my belly ached! Would definitely like to see her live again!
Great show. Laughed so hard I peed myself a little bit. If your on the fence about going to see Jessica - GO SEE HER!! You will not regret your decision!!
My wife and I had tickets to see Jessica Kirson in CT when unfortunately we couldn’t make the show due to a prior commitment. Yes I double booked on a day of a family event. Two months later, on a friends trip to Philly, coincidentally, Jessica Kirson was playing the punchline. The six of us went to the show and it was Great!!
Jessica was great. The warmup comic was not good at all. He was so bad I would have left but I came to see Jessica who was awesome. Glad I stayed.
Great venue and lighting and sound were excellent.
The old castle setting (it's actually an armory) is unique, and a great example of repurposing old infrastructure. But we weren't there for an architectural tour. We were there for @Jessicakirson. We've been catching her act in NYC for years now, and she quickly became one of our absolute faves, and this was a chance to see her headline a show. She glides from smart observational humor - often pushing boundaries and comfort levels (not ours') - to explosively outrageous series of rants and characters and 3rd wall-breaking introspectives at a pace that at times doesn't allow us to catch our breath before the next laugh. Her act is designed to appear almost haphazard. She spends the first few minutes grumbling about not really wanting to be there in front of us. But you quickly realize she'd rather be nowhere else. She plays off the audience like she's been doing this for decades...and she has. What we love most about her is how fully invested she is in her humor - she's all in, and knowing that not everyone will find it funny makes it all the more hysterical, to her and to us. But if we're going to spend an evening an hour from home, it all comes down to one thing: is she funny? And yeah. She's very funny. If you have not heard of her yet, chance are you will.
My face literally hurt after I left because I laughed so hard. Jessica was ridiculously hilarious and quick witted. She was even funnier in person than her stand-up specials on tv. My only complaint was the comedy club itself - Roar at MGM. The old armory building looks really cool inside but the stage lighting is migraine inducing, dim blue LED lights bathed the stage and it actually made it very difficult to focus my eyes properly it was like trying to read in harsh yet dim lighting. MGM really needs to correct this lighting issue, I wasn't the only one complaining about the lighting. Other than that the show was awesome.
We were laughing the whole time! Jessica was great!! Would definitely go see her again.
Jessica Kirson is the funniest comedian out there. Do not miss her live, and if you can't see her live watch her videos or listen to her podcast. You will not regret it.
