About

Jenny Lewis, a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter, first won the praise of critics and fans as the lead vocalist of the indie rock/pop group Rilo Kiley. In between recording and performing with her band, Lewis worked on solo material—private songs that she never intended to release to the public. When urged by Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst to contribute to his new Team Love label, Lewis decided to enter the studio to record her solo debut, Rabbit Fur Coat. The album is a haunting mix of confessional, reflective lyrics, folksy instrumentation and bluegrass harmonies (from Kentucky-born sisters, the Watson Twins). Rabbit Fur Coat also features guest appearances from leading indie rock artists such as label head Conor Oberst, Ben Gibbard (Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie) and M. Ward (who also served as co-producer of the album).

    Jenny Lewis is Queen!

by StewietheKid on 1/31/16The Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian - Los Angeles

One of the best shows I've ever been to, so magical and inspiring. Lewis is a true performer through and through. She played the whole album with such passion and emotional depth, and included songs from the rest of her repertoire as well, making it a perfect blend of past and present. I liked the way they divided the show into a couple sections, it was a very satisfying concert experience. And the venue was incredible, the atmosphere contributed greatly to the quality and vibe of the music, and the acoustics and sound were incredible.

    Mesmerizing

by Turtle11 on 1/31/16The Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian - Los Angeles

I don't know if it was the acoustics in this church, but this was the most amazing-sounding concert I've ever been to. Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins were absolutely glorious. Jenny's voice switches between playful, sensual, and haunting without effort. So, so good. She played the entire Rabbit Fur Coat album, threw in some songs from Acid Tongue and Voyager and even Rilo Kiley, and sang a new song. She didn't talk to the audience at all during the first act, except to say "thank you" when an audience member complimented her boots. She said later that she intended not to talk at all during the first act. In the second act, she interacted more with the audience but not a whole lot. She played her music, and they all looked like they were having such a joyful time. i'm still thinking about this concert!

    Great act!

Outstanding show. Loved the fact that both sets were completely different. I was more familiar with her earlier stuff, but now love the Voyager album.... Watson Twins were great as well....and of course, M Ward is always a fav...no matter who he plays with... Talente group of musicians...well put together. Cathedral Hall...was perfect for the act.
