Jean- Michel Jarre was a great energetic concert

by BruceAMilesA on 4/21/18Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Loved the electronic music, and the laser / light show. Great to finally see JMJ in concert after listening to his music since the late 70's. Rare treat.

    Jarre was Technologically Brilliant!

by JarreHead on 4/15/18Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

The best show I have ever seen - the screens that allowed for the 3-D effect were brilliant and the show blew me away! Great venue, section 103 is the best for seating in this venue. This is the third event I have been to at the Smart Financial Center and it is outstanding and 10 minutes away from where I live.

    Amazing event!

by PhilEN on 4/13/18Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

I have followed JM Jarre since the late 70's, and was fortunate enough to be in Paris in 1990 and in Switzerland in 1993 attending his huge outdoor shows. While the event in Sugar Land was indoors, and surprisingly not with a huge audience (have so many people forgotten the unique Rendez-vous concert he gave in Houston in 1986?), Jean Michel managed to drum up an amazing show of music, light and art that is at the same time very much at the forefront of modern electronica and strongly connected to his pioneering work over the past 40+ years.

by ghgram on 4/13/18Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

Show was really good and extremely visual. Even though is a 70's-80's musician there were young people in the audience. Sad the theater was not crouded.

    WoW Amazing Performance

by MonarchsMomma on 5/30/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I was first introduced to Jean-Michel Jarre in my high school French class. The teacher had brought in a teen magazine. I was drawn to his good looks! I found the LP Équinoxe. I loved it! I even took the LP to class to play. My kids have grown up with his music. I recently had been listening to his music & decided to look him up online & I am so Glad I did. I had no idea he was touring. My son & I attended the show. We arrived too early as he did not come out until 9 pm instead of the 8 pm sharp that was listed. His opening act was good. I have been to several concerts, this has been the most unusual. The outdoor venue was perfect! I thought Jean-Michel mixed his playlist well, original with the new. I have been listening to his music since Friday night. He interacted well with the audience. I will be studying Eric Snowden more as per Exit song.

Excellent sound and visuals: Jean-Michel Jarre

by NoDelaysShow on 5/30/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I've been listening to Jarre since the late 1970s, when Oxygene came out. Finally, a real tour of North America! Gorgeous high-tech visuals, clean and clear sound, and a really nice outdoor venue at Berkely's Greek Theatre. What a pleasure!

    Incredible, and About Time

by Sfencer on 5/29/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I've waited 30+ years to see him in the US. Fantastic lights and the best sound of any show I've ever attended. Pity that the audience was so small. I'm sure it must have been a let down for him, since he usually plays in front of a million people. I blame the US promotion team. I will definitely fly to Europe to see him again.

Jean Michel Jarre is a world-class talent

by JorgeDeLaPlaya on 5/29/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Jean Michel Jarre at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley last Friday was musically fantastic and visually mind-blowing. The stage set included a moveable array of multicolored LED grids that functioned as a transparent screen displaying geometric shapes, artistic imagery, and, at times, the face and hands of the performer himself. Besides some new work, such as his recent collaboration with Edward Snowden, Jarre played many of his old standards. It was a magical concert, and one I will remember always.

    Best sound system ever

by jcgarzaSF on 5/29/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

It was a shame to see that this event was not sold out, specially when you consider it was his first ever Bay Area performance. The light show, as expected, was dazzling, but was really impressive was how great the sound system was—the music was pleasantly loud, but never sounded distorted in the slightest. My only other comment is that I wish he'd played a bit more of his early work, as the show did feel very biased towards his newer, pop-ier stuff.

    awesom concert

What a magical evening was the concert at the Greek theater featuring the brilliant genius of electronic music, Jean Michel Jarre. I only hope that this shamen of electronic music returns to Berkeley soon. It was 3 hours of magic, music, an all encompassing experience that will not be forgotten. how fortunate we were to have the opportunity to hear this creative giant live and in person It is artists like Jarre that make life worth living, to experience such profound joy for an evening and allows us to temporarily forget all of the negatives in our world.

    Excellent music and light show

    by Osiris43 on 5/29/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I expected the music to be great and wasn''t disappointed. He performed selections from throughout his career as well as recent compositions. What did surprise me was the light show which was displayed on moveable light curtains that surrounded the stage, taking up different positions in keeping with the music being played.

    Godfather of electronica making history!

by Tlmybell on 5/29/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

The Godfather of electronica pulled out all the stops and put on an incredible show. He played a laser harp!!!! It blew my mind. The visual effects, sound system and overall performance was beyond my expectations. I'm surprised the whole bay area wasn't there. He has broken 3 Guinness world records for playing to the largest crowd of 3.5 million people! A must see performance.
